Harkenwell _ Bonus Map
Added 2022-06-02 13:16:37 +0000 UTCPerhaps not far from Ashthorp, Harkenwell, home of the Green Falcon Tavern and Inn, is another quiet little village with a pond, snuggled at the base of a hill rising up to the moors and surrounded on the other 3 sides by hedge-rowed fields.
Seen on the Harkenwell town notice board:
This year, on the 5th to 10th days of May, the Green Falcon is hosting the annual county gathering of the cordwainers guild. John Heavyfoot, our village cobbler, will be away in Harkenstow visiting his elderly aunt for the duration…
NO-ONE is to mention his name or profession in the presence of the visiting cordwainers, on pain of banishment from the tavern and the village ‘for ever’. Especially do not mention or ask about events transpiring during their last visit 30 years ago when our John, then an apprentice yet, snuck into all their rooms the night before their famous (and final) foot race against the cobblers guild and filled all their boot soles with lead….
