Playing Classic Sonic Wrong
Added 2022-01-12 23:03:48 +0000 UTCThis one has been a weird project to take on. I wanted to try a few things different. Not just hitting these games with shorter form reviews. But using gimmicks to explore games I'm very familiar with from new angles and essentially provoke a topic out of them.
This got stranger in writing, I've been on the internet for a long time and watched a lot of stuff related to Sonic, it can at times be hard to pick out what's a conclusion I came to on my own versus one I've picked up along the way. So many people talk about this series from so many angles that I'm thoroughly uncertain if anything I can say will be both novel AND useful/interesting. So this steadily morphed into some kind of "retrospective retrospective" not just tackling the games and semi-related topics, but the conversations I've heard over the years.
Anyway I still tried to keep it fun and breezy and I hope you enjoy. I wound up splitting what was originally a full retrospective into a series so I can modify my approach going forward if people aren't fully feeling this.
