Jaune to Joan Chaopter 35

Chapter 35

Pyrrha and Cinder were both given ample time to rest, but after a couple days, talk of what they all needed to do next spawned back up in the group. Joan and Cinder had both been made privy to the conversations after the other day, but they were still catching up on how everything had gotten to where it had. Vaguely, they knew both Oscar and Pyrrha had information about Salem, information Cinder was able to expound on. The two teams had been debating as to what was more important and whether they should go to Atlass or not. The discussion seemed to rather decidedly settle on Atlas, though, with Joan’s request, also a small stop by argus to visit her sisters and hopefully the rest of her family.

As talks died down, Joan and Cinder both had new news to share with each other and talks to be had on the side. “I have something to say!” They both introduced to each other.

“You first.” Joan offered.

“No, you.” Cinder demanded.

“Well, first off, thank you so much for saving Pyrrha. I- I trusted you, and I know you wouldn’t hurt her… but… I also know saving her… it must have been really hard on you. Especially knowing that things between her and I-”

“How about we not give me reasons to regret saving her?”

“Right… uugh… you next- but I still have more.”

“Fine… well, so, I was talking with Ren the day Pyrrha and I almost died.”

“Mhmm?”

“It seems like your friend might be trans?”

“Oh, yup, she totally is. She and I talked about it that day too.”

“Yeah, and she asked me for… for help transitioning? Like I did for you… before I realized you liked it.”

“That- that’s not really possible tho, is it?” Joan furrowed her brow.

“Some is, some isn’t. If she wants me to castrate her, I can do that pretty safely, but the whole thing and the implant? No, that would be a bit of work. She also wanted me to get her some meds tho. So… I snuck out and stole these last night while you were sleeping.” Cinder offered.

“I- I-” Joan stammered as Cinder dropped a series of filled scripts for other people in her hands.

“You don’t need them, not anymore with your transplant, but if Ren wants to start transitioning… it is a good start. I told her someone willing to help for the rest. Conveniently, he is in Atlas, so-”

‘What?”

“I know someone else who is experienced in things like that and he should be able to help Ren.”

“No, Ren’s not trans.”

“What are you talking about! She told me she was looking for help transitioning.”

“No, Nora, his girlfriend. She started a while ago and is starting to run out of hormones. That’s why Ren was willing to have you steal these.”

“Oh… guess that makes sense then.”

“Thank you tho, this is incredibly sweet. I am sure she will appreciate it.”

“Well, good then. I- I suppose we aught to get going sooner rather than later so you can see your family and she can get the treatment she needs.”

“Yeah, everyone else seems to think it is a good idea to get going soon. And with the Schnee airship awaiting the heiress, we might be going as soon as tonight.”

“Sounds good, pretty whore.” Cinder teased with a light kiss.

“Hmm! I! Mhmm! Yes! I-”

“Joan?” Pyrrha stopped at the end of the hallway where the two lovebirds stood.

“Oh! I! Yes? What’s up Pyr?”

“I… just wanted to know if you have a minute? To talk about some stuff?”

Joan nodded. “I’ll be with you in just a little Cin?”

“Yup, take care. I need to take a shower anyways.” She winked rather suggestively and disappeared.

“What’s up? How are you healing?”

“I- I’m fine.” Pyrrha offered a small smile. “I just… really all I wanted to do was apologize and explain.”

“Huh? What about?”

“I should have saved you. I- we… knew you were still alive. I knew where you were.” A foreign voice seemed to speak through Pyrrha.

“What?”

“Ah! Shut up! This! This is my time to- fine.

“Pyrr? I don’t really understand.

“It is a long story, but… do you remember how Ozpin warned that I might not be myself after everything?”

“I- I guess, yeah?”

“He was right… and wrong. I am still here… but someone else is too. The girl who melded with me. I- I can feel her- her thoughts, her memories and… and she had knowledge that Remnant needs. She knew Ozpin wasn’t dead.”

It took Joan a minute to put two and two together, to realize what Pyrrha meant. “Oscar!”

“I had to find him first. When I found him… Ozpin was still squeamish about answers, but he had some. Some we need to share. We- we need to get them to Ironwood. But… Mantle and Atlas are north east and…”

“I was the other thing you were thinking of doing…”

“And we weren’t going to choose you.”

“Oh…”

“I love you- I do. But I am only half of me anymore. The other half… is more invested in there never being another Cinder again. Never another little girl, tricked into doing the bidding of a monster.”

“I understand. I’m not particularly happy to know I was at the bottom of the list… but I understand.”

“I am sorry. And I am so happy for you and Cinder. I love you. Even if I can’t love you that way.”

“I love you too Pyrrha. And I wish you the best with navigating everything that comes with… being two people.”

“Thank you.” Pyrrha leaned in and hugged Joan tight. “With that last bit settled. We were thinking of heading out tonight if you and Cinder are ready?”

“Yeah. Sounds good.” Joan nodded.
