Q&A - Winter 2024

Hey everyone, it's... Q&A day? As I mentioned a couple times now, there won't be a new video this Saturday, I always take the weekend after the Worst Songs off (mostly so I don't cut the legs out from under it in the algorithm). SO, how about giving me some Qs to A instead?! You know the drill by now, but for new supporters: It's basically a free-for-all... ask me hypotheticals, ask me regular theticals, questions about YouTube, questions about me personally, predictions, whatever. If you've ever thought "I would like to ask Buckley something but I don't want to bug him", this is your invitation to bug me! I'll work on answering them right in this thread over the weekend, so come back over the next few days and read all the answers!

If you haven't already watched The Ten Worst Songs of 2024, here's a link for you: https://youtu.be/YEFe1C88SWw

If you haven't watched the ELEVENTH Worst Song of 2024, that might also be a fun thing to do now: https://www.patreon.com/posts/bonus-255-worst-117641894

And just a reminder, I've got a couple bonus videos still to release this year, they're both going to happen on really the dumbest days to release content (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) so enjoy those over the holidays as well, plus the "5 Stories I Missed in 2024" will be up next weekend (the 28th, the 27th in early access for you guys!)

Q&A - Winter 2024

Comments

The post said no rookies, so that’s probably why she isn’t on the list. Same with Shaboozey.

Chude Uzoka

I think Chappell Roan should probably be #1 on that "stock rose the most" list since she had a huge breakout year after quite a few years of being basically nobody. But yeah, seems relatively accurate.

Adam Buckley

One last question until the next Q&A. I saw this on Twitter the other day. Do you agree with this at all? Artists whose stock rose the most this year (no rookies) 10. Post Malone 9. Ty Dolla $ign 8. Tinashe 7. Tyler, the Creator 6. Jelly Roll 5. GloRilla 4. Hozier 3. Charli XCX 2. Kendrick Lamar 1. Sabrina Carpenter Honorable Mention: Billie Eillish (only breakout artist from 2019 that stuck around. Lizzo, DaBaby & Lil Nas X have all tanked) Artists whose stock dropped the most in 2024: 10. Dua Lipa 9. Black Keys 8. Justin Timberlake 7. Camila Cabello 6. Nicki Minaj 5. Lil Nas X 4. Katy Perry 3. Ice Spice 2. Drake 1. P. Diddy Dishonorable mentions: Jennifer Lopez, Jojo Siwa, Dave Grohl, Lady Gaga, Halsey.

Chude Uzoka

I would love to see either. I haven't really heard you talk about the 2000s hits all that much.

Chude Uzoka

After the way the last one performed, I don't know if I'll keep doing the retro lists. But I might do a Buckley vs Billboard from an earlier time, maybe let people vote for a decade and I'll pick a year, or I'll just do all the #1s from that decade, something like that.

Adam Buckley

Oh, easy. Pantera - Fucking Hostile

Adam Buckley

I know you’re possibly considering doing a Buckley vs. Billboard for 2020, but have ever considered doing a retro worst list for the 2000s?

Chude Uzoka

What’s your favorite or most tolerable song with the F word in the title?

Chude Uzoka

Apologies for completely forgetting to reply, but I just knew you'd be mentioning some Studio RGG titles as a fellow fan hah! Project Century absolutely looks dope, and what can I say about Pirate Yakuza but it's a fantastic premise and will be awesome to play as Majima the whole time. I forgot Outer worlds 2 was even coming out so thank you for that reminder! It's my goal to actually go back and 100% that first one this year. Would love to see you do a bonus video on GOTYs. The five worst, five best format reminds me of Yahtzee Crowshaw a lot, so hell yea brother!

Mack

Awww damn lol I do remember that video but I honestly thought it was just part of a joke, but honestly your opinion is valid. There's definitely some terrible ones out there. I have a soft spot for very certain Christmas songs because of memories and other cheesy reasons. I'll have to listen to the Brian Setzer, Cheap Trick and that other one. Trans Siberian Orchestra has some good Christmas instrumentals, I think my favorite is Dream of the Fireflies. I guess I gotta check out the Run DMC song now. Hope you had an awesome holiday Buckley! Edit: I just listened to those songs and man, Christmas Wrapping was the absolute worst. I feel I just had an aneurysm from listening to that chaotic mess of a song haha

B-Locke

Probably Marvel's MAX Universe. There aren't many Super Heroes, it's mostly just The Punisher doing awful things to bad people and I'd be left alone. I don't think I'd want to live in any Super Hero universe, because it's just a bunch of super powered idiots smashing things up all the time and even if you don't live in New York, you still have to live in fear of shit like Galactus showing up to eat the whole planet or Doom trying to take the whole place over or turning Earth into some sort of "Battleworld".

Adam Buckley

If you could live in any superhero universe witch would it be and why

Zachary Malloy

With the death of the monoculture, I don't know if there's anyone who should be "surprised" by something not being more popular anymore, everything's so segmented. But I feel like Yellowjackets (the TV show) isn't as popular as it could be. As far as musicians, I'm kinda surprised Tate McRae isn't mentioned more in various places, or that she doesn't have a ton of annoying fans. I know she's had a few Billboard hits, she's more famous in Canada (we've been hearing her music on the radio for like 5 or maybe even 6 years now) but she's the right amount of attractive/not very good that should make her a massive US hit. Maybe she's too conventional, in an era where Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan are considered Pop Idols, someone who's conventionally pretty isn't gonna make it.

Adam Buckley

I kinda answer this one every Q&A and then also immediately forget what I said, so... I don't know. Let's say Full Metal Jacket this time. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

Adam Buckley

Is there a band or song that you're surprised hasn't gotten more mainstream recognition? If not music, then maybe a movie or TV series?

Stephen Leblanc

What's your favorite movie, it can be one you grew up with or a more recent one

Zachary Malloy

I did a Musical Autopsy on Christmas songs years ago, but... I really dislike pretty much all of them. This year I heard a Brian Setzer Orchestra version of Jingle Bells and Rockin Around the Christmas Tree that were just horrible, I'm sure I heard them before but I was reminded of their existence this year... And Cheap Trick's "I Want You for Christmas" which is so bad it's funny, makes me think "what other mediocre old songs could just be turned into Christmas songs by changing a couple words?" And is it Christmas Wrapping I'm thinking of, where they sing-talk kinda fast throughout and the chorus is "merry Christmas, merry Christmas"? Also a terrible song... There's like one good Christmas song ever made, and it's that instrumental by the Trans Siberian Orchestra or whatever. Oh and Run DMCs Christmas in Hollis, only because it reminds me of Die Hard.

Adam Buckley

Hey Buckley! For someone that hates on a lot of songs (joking btw!) Seeing it's the season to be jolly, or hateful, what Christmas songs are the absolute worst for you? Love from your wanna be Canadian in Minnesota!

B-Locke

It sucks, crazy it's kinda happened twice (in like 25 years) but if anything, maybe that speaks to the longevity of KMFDM! No one's still talking about Marilyn Manson, are they?! But yeah, I don't know... I gotta imagine the band (who at this point is really only one constant guy and everyone else is new) is probably like "Fuck, AGAIN?! Why do school shooters love us so much?!" Most of their music, while being anti-government and anti-establishment, is also somewhat anti-violence (particularly anti-war), it's not like they have songs that tell people to go do this. If anything, it would have made more sense if it turned out Luigi Mangione was a KMFDM fan.

Adam Buckley

The ability to go out in the cold for long periods of time and still be able to talk, without his lips cracking.

Adam Buckley

1 - Certainly possible, though I guess some other song could have been big, hard to say that if one song flopped, that'd be it. Also, if Chris Brown had hit Rihanna now, he'd probably be even bigger, all the "Cancel Culture!" warriors would have come out to defend him. 2 - I think it's probably simpler to just say that social media played a big part in that a lot of non-Comedy fans are seeing things out of context, which leads to them being upset, and then other Comedians have seen how easy it is to do the whole "Ohh we're a dying breed, comedy's under a microscope now and we're all in danger of being cancelled!" shtick to gain new fans. Fact is that stand-up comedy's probably never been more popular at any time than now, thanks to things like Netflix or just YouTube in general, vs the old days where you either had to wait for an HBO special (if you could afford HBO), you maybe watched some 5 minute set on some crappy Comedy Central showcase, or you had to actually GO to a standup show, and most of the people you see now would have never had National and International careers, a guy like Matt Rife for example would just be some local dude somewhere who MIGHT get a year's worth of fame ala Andrew Dice Clay, but never really have a long massive career. Carlin probably did say that, but he ALSO famously said of Andrew Dice Clay that he should basically watch what he's doing, that he defends his right to say what he says, but that audiences also have the right to tell him he's "punching down" (not sure if that's the phrase he used but it's what he alludes to, with Carlin basically suggesting that comedy should always target the most powerful, not the weak, hence a lot of his anti-corporate, anti-political humor).

Adam Buckley

Not sure if this is too dark or not, but I saw you post on Twitter a while ago about your KMFDM collection, what are your thoughts about them (unfortunately again) being in the spotlight because of dipshits like the Wisconsin school shooter?

Parker Buhler

What would Chapstick Boy's superpower be?

Bryson Witsell

I've got two questions for you Buckley. 1. Do you think if Chris Brown's 2010 comeback single 'Deuces' had flopped hard, we probably could have been spared Chris Brown across the 2010s? Especially considering how often Chris Brown has showed up on several 'worst of' lists. (btw, I was surprised 'Loyal' and 'Ayo' didn't appear on your 'worst of' lists for 2014 and 2015, respectively) I'll go one further, if that song had flopped, would Tyga probably would have suffered a severe setback too, considering all the junk he's put out and the obnoxious creeping on underage girls? So many bad albums and bad singles and publicity nightmares could have potentially been avoided. 2. Regarding today's internet culture with the "offenders" (extremists trolls looking to get attention by pissing people off) and the "offendees", (extremist crybabies looking to get attention by acting like everything everywhere is an insult) do you think a combination of these two extremes lead to comedy being put under a microscope? Especially in regards to how some claim that humor has gone way too far, driving too much into bad taste and harsh stereotypes, while others would say humor has gone too soft; afraid to anger the politically correct sensitivities of the world. My personal opinion: Offensive comedy is nothing new. Comedians have been censored, harassed, even sent to jail for jokes that today would be seen as pretty commonplace. That's because all comedy is based on some form of misery. So you'll always have to address something unpleasant in order to get a laugh. George Carlin, one of the world's most beloved rule breakers, once said, "Comedy doesn't work unless someone's getting offended." And he's right. Puns are a mockery of language, goofy faces are a mockery of strange-looking people, you really have to think about it, but, yeah. Somebody's pride has to be challenged in order for it to work. But I think what most good comedians realize is the more truth in pain you can emphasize, usually the more funny it is. Tom and Jerry is much funnier than Smurfs because it really looks like the pain hurts. Malcolm in the Middle is much funnier than Full House because they address much harsher realities. But, of course, if you were to see any of these in real life, you'd probably be horrified and wouldn't laugh at all. Hence, this is why comedy is a defense mechanism.

Chude Uzoka

I've never really understood it and kinda just assumed it was more "politicians just playing a game", though I guess it has real-world consequences with regards to currency value. But I feel like Canada and the US has ALWAYS been deeply "in debt" for amounts of money that I'll never see in a thousand lifetimes, so I just go "well it doesn't change my life, guess I'll just ignore it".

Adam Buckley

Thanks for the reply! I believe they are replacing the bike lanes with car lanes as they were before, and I also can't see how it's going to help Toronto residents either 🀣 cars are for country roads and long distances, not a mile trip down the road in a city to the shops. That said, NotJustBikes is a smarmy prick, but makes interesting videos. I am a highways engineer and he does well researched if pompous videos πŸ˜…

Elizabeth Coates

Yes, that, and what do you think of the people who say he's a fall guy and that this is a set up?

Alicia Samantha

Do you find the worldwide debt system to be an absurd thing considering that someone broke the failsafe by allowing to have loans over debts making it impossible to reimburse whatever you do and what is your take on this?

Daniel Brulotte

Ballsy too

Ben Jackson

Why do you hate him exactly?

Ben Jackson

True. I think the ones popping up are actually for the people as in the case of Starbucks.

Ben Jackson

Maybe the Soccer vs North Americans one, since people here seem to care at least little more about soccer these days? Or the Kesha one?

Sachi

I don't know if I'd say "plans" but certainly something might come up that makes me think about doing one. One that probably would have been good was revisiting my old Postal Strike video (since Canada just had another one), but I'm also open to "suggestions" on that too, if people wanted to know how I felt about a video from 12 years ago or whatever, suggest a video and I might do it!

Adam Buckley

πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Michelle

Any plans for more Buckley vs Buckley videos in the new year?

Sachi

I don't know if I really have any Christmas traditions to be honest. This year we're thinking about going out for dinner and then going to see a movie, basically "Christmas for non-Christians/DINKs". But generally, I'm not really into watching Christmas movies or anything, and a lot of times any family stuff ends up being on a different day than the 25th.

Adam Buckley

Did Doug Ford do it? He's the Premier, I feel like that would be an Olivia Chow thing (she's the current mayor). Either way, obviously ripping out infrastructure is bad, but we DO live in a country that just does not care about anything other than cars (or in Toronto at least they have subways). I haven't looked into it, if those lanes were being taken out for light rail or other public transit, I'd be relatively ok with that, but if they're just for more cars... I mean, Toronto's fucked already. Doesn't matter, adding just one more lane for cars is never gonna help. EDIT (I hit Enter too fast) as for NotJustBikes, fuck that guy. I fucking hate him. He's such a smarmy fucking shit, and he's not really a "fellow Londoner", he moved to the Netherlands or some shit so he could shove his bike up his ass all day or whatever he wants to do with it. Can't stand him.

Adam Buckley

Probably the year that the 4 Nicki Minaj songs tied for Worst Song. But I don't know for sure, I've kinda forgotten what a lot of the "other" songs in each year were, like I'll remember the worst song, but when I look back at the list I'll go "oh I made fun of that song? I completely forgot I did that!"

Adam Buckley

I think there are certainly some ok Unions. I think unfortunately, too many of them are corrupt and are just taking money from hard working people, and not offering any real protection.

Adam Buckley

No, that would require me to give a shit about them. There's been quite a few different people over the years who've tried to pick a fight with me, I just ignored them for the most part, and don't remember their names now. Vague recollections... some guy in a turtleneck who hated my gun video, some loser who drinks on camera who hated... some other video I did, I forget which one... anyway, yeah, they just don't occupy space in my mind, it's a waste.

Adam Buckley

I still might talk about it in the "5 Stories I Missed in 2024", so I don't want to burn too much of that, but... I think what it taught us is... a lot of people who have Punisher stickers on their jeeps really DON'T want vigilantes in real life.

Adam Buckley

I don't really have those. You know though, here's one that... sometimes I recall for no reason, I was in maybe grade 3, like really young, and my teacher said something about getting into groups to "brainstorm", and I grabbed my head and made really bad thunder noises, and fell on the ground, and my teacher was like "Umm... what was that?" and I said "I was having a Brain Storm!" and NO ONE laughed. That's when I knew I could never be a class clown.

Adam Buckley

I enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine (I know everyone's cynical now and it's not cool to like fun things but it was a fun thing), I don't think it's a 2024 movie but I watched Boy Kills World this year, it was good. TV shows... What We Do in the Shadows ended this year, it probably could have wrapped up last year but still, I like it, Netflix's Man on the Inside was... a tough watch at times but funny. I actually enjoyed Kaos, too bad it was already cancelled. Comics... I've just been reading Amazing Spider-Man, this year's comics haven't been overly exciting. Oh actually Garth Ennis is writing a fantasy comic called "Babs" that's been really funny.

Adam Buckley

I've only ever driven through it. Seems ok?

Adam Buckley

Her on top, me watching through a telescope three hotels away.

Adam Buckley

No, I spent a few days in Quebec earlier this year but we didn't go to Montreal, we stayed in a town called Montebello. About halfway between Ottawa and Montreal. It was ok.

Adam Buckley

I suppose it's no worse than the fuckin' NPC live streamers. But like... I don't know, yeah don't just go on TikTok and BEG, offer some fucking reason for people to "donate", be entertaining. If someone's basically just panhandling online, and offering nothing in return... then yeah, I don't care if they don't ever get anything out of it.

Adam Buckley

EAAAAACCKKKSHUALLY it's Richard Osman's House of Games (sorry, had to!)

Adam Buckley

I didn't listen to either, sorry.

Adam Buckley

I mean, probably Yakuza... Kiryu can fight thugs all day while I just play mini games. Otherwise, if there's NO health or monetary repercussions? Like no matter what I can't die? Either Fallout or GTA, working as a Radio host in either one.

Adam Buckley

I think it highly depends on the show, but I would say HBOs 10 - 12 episode seasons is a good length. As far as UK shows go, I watch mostly panel shows, looking forward to this season of Would I Lie to You, be great if they brought back Cats Does Countdown but I'm not sure what's going on with that, and I'll watch this year's Big Fat Quiz too. Outside of that I really enjoyed Luther, and there was a show David Cross did called "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" that I thought was great. Show cancellation that annoyed me the most... probably Deadwood. they did the "movie" to wrap it up, but I wish it would have got the final season to wrap up some other things and not feel so rushed.

Adam Buckley

I've joked before that I had a metal phase in my teen years that I just never grew out of. BUT, I really don't spend time listening to music for fun, I'll never be the type of person who just puts on Spotify while I'm doing things (like, I'm spending an hour or so right now answering these questions in absolute silence). Only time I really have music on is in the car, and then it's usually just a bunch of shit I listened to 15, 20, 25 years ago that I still like now. We have one cat still, the cat seen in the "Brogan Lolz Cat Pranks" video from an April Fools video a few years ago. Sadly, Jason's cat "Rick" passed away a couple years ago. Does New York have the death penalty? Either way, maybe... gonna be a tough case for him for sure, killed a rich dude in cold blood with a motive to terrorize other Medical CEOs it would appear (at least that's what they're going to try and prove since they slapped a Terrorism charge on him I believe). They're going to try and create enough "reasonable doubt" to not convict him, but... that's gonna be tough since I think they found him WITH the murder weapon.

Adam Buckley

In 2018 I took that hiatus, and yeah at one point I thought I might be done. Then I made the Ten Worst Songs of 2019 (after a pretty lengthy break, I think I'd only made 3 or 4 videos between 2018 and 2019) and I just really enjoyed the process again, I was like "hmm, maybe I SHOULD start doing this again, this was fun". I also think that my hiatus might have been the result of me actually not being happy with other things in my life (like my job), but I felt like I didn't have time and needed to prioritize certain things (like... the thing that actually paid the bills), and I wasn't ready to attempt to monetize A Dose of Buckley at that point (I was afraid it would fail, and then I wouldn't have a job OR my channel). But yeah, now I'm doing two videos a week, and I love it.

Adam Buckley

Probably not.

Adam Buckley

I was heavily influenced as a kid I think by Dennis Leary and then later Lewis Black. As well as Don Rickles appearances on Conan, or "Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog". So I think that helped me gravitate toward rant comedy, which I just really like the structure of.

Adam Buckley

There are certainly ways to criticize comedy, ANYTHING can be criticized, but the challenge is that... humor is VERY subjective. When people say dumb shit like "that's not comedy, I thought comedy was supposed to be funny", that's an absurd idea. I don't find anything Matt Rife does funny, but he IS a comedian, he structures his work the way a comedian does. But as for "not liking jokes because you're offended", whether that's true or not, again, comedy is so subjective, and if someone's upset that YOU don't find something funny, it sounds like they're the ones who are easily offended. Much like how no one should be offended by me making fun of Taylor Swift, no one should be offended by a person not liking a comedian. But depending on the "jokes", the important thing behind it is the intent. Some people love to hide behind the "Oh they're just jokes!" shield, when really they're just a racist asshole. There's a difference between Bill Burr telling a joke about black people (when he clearly doesn't hate black people, he's married to a black woman) and some guy at the office being like "All these N-words in this city, gotta watch your wallet everywhere you go" and then going "OH IT'S A JOKE LIGHTEN UP", it's not a joke, it's a statement.

Adam Buckley

I kinda need my body, so I can't be giving it away right now. Maybe when I'm dead.

Adam Buckley

I've joked that 1997 was the worst in my lifetime, but I bet there's some years in the 70s, in the disco era, that are HORRENDOUS.

Adam Buckley

Oh definitely. I don't think that's really the question, right? The question is going to be "how are his lawyers going to create enough reasonable doubt so he gets away with it?"

Adam Buckley

Most of my collection is "old comic books", my oldest is an Amazing Spider-Man issue from 1964 (the first appearance of Electro). I guess that's probably the one where, if I could save one personal item from a house fire, that'd be what I'd grab.

Adam Buckley

I really enjoyed Astro Bot (except for like 3 of the challenge levels that can get fucked). The main game was a LOT of fun, and I think it absolutely deserved it. I never played Stellar Blade, the gameplay didn't really appeal to me (it's a hack and slash apparently, right? Not a lot of talk about the actual gameplay from anyone, even fans), and I think I'd just be kind of embarrassed to play that in front of my girlfriend, "hey look at my half naked anime robot! I'm a 40 year old man!" I'm not really a big Resolution guy. I think my plan for the channel (and my life) is to just keep doing what I'm doing, and hope that people still enjoy it, and look for opportunities to keep things fresh while not alienating my current audience (if that's possible).

Adam Buckley

I don't have anything scheduled, but I think I still have a few questions sent to me that I could do an Advice Patreon Asked For. It's one of my favorites to do, but it's not particularly popular it seems lately. Same with the "Every Video Game I Played This Year" video, that was VERY unpopular, but I might do a Patreon exclusive where I re-work it (maybe doing a "5 Best and 5 Worst" or something.

Adam Buckley

Other than the platform, I think that'd be great! You could also talk about PhoneBooth boxing, or the weird Russian 3 vs 3 boxing, where one guy is dressed as Spiderman, for some reason.

AJS Wrestling

Ryan, Checkers (man have fun with looking that up)

Adam Buckley

Are you planning on making another β€œworst games of the year” video in the future?

Rax 320

It's actually used as an Aphrodisiac. And if you're really kinky, you put it on your body and get a Moose to lick it off.

Adam Buckley

I consider myself a Comedian who sometimes enjoys making fun of music. I don't really think I'm the voice of the "average" person, though I'm glad people seem to enjoy me making fun of pop songs, but I DEFINITELY don't consider myself a music critic or even a music snob (I hate Radiohead for example. Can't stand them. So... I don't think I can be a music snob).

Adam Buckley

I don't really have much quality footage of my own fights left, and as far as other boxing videos go, based on the number of views, people aren't that interested in some of the ones I've done recently, so I don't know if there's a lot of interest for it as a whole. I DID think of doing a side-project some day on like TikTok or something (yeah I know... gross...) that would be like minute-long mocking of some of the really strange fighting shit that exists in the world (for example, have you heard of Car-jitsu? It's a real thing, they fight in the front seat of a car).

Adam Buckley

No, I've always been a 616 guy and I don't have much room left to be starting new shit. I did read a few older Ultimate Universe stories (like Ultimate Spider-Man) when I had Marvel Unlimited, but I stopped subscribing to it for a while since I wasn't using it that often and it was starting to not be worth it.

Adam Buckley

I guess I went to radio school in 2006 or 2007, and then it pretty much started there.

Adam Buckley

I spent the whole time in different parts of Tokyo. I will say, IF they still do it, you go to a Bic Camera location with your passport, and you can get a 72 hour tourist Subway pass for WAAAY cheaper than it costs to take the subway. That's if you're going to spend time in Tokyo and learn how to use their subway (it's really easy, there's a bunch of apps for it, the Internet generally works in the tunnels, a lot of things are in English, so I recommend it). We visited Akihabara (TONS of weeb shops and used video game stores), Kabukicho (the setting for the Yakuza games, it's a nightlife district that used to be home to a lot of organized crime figures), we went to the remains of an Imperial Palace, I went and watched boxing at Korakuen Hall (which is in Tokyo Dome City, the Dome is a fun place to see and there's a Roller Coaster that goes through a Ferris Wheel there too), we went to an Aquarium in Sunshine City on the 10th floor of a Mall, it was really cool (HUGE Aquarium, has seal shows on the roof too), I don't know if I can remember everything but I just loved walking the city, going "oh that place looks interesting", going in, eating wherever we felt like, we did ONE tour and it was a 3 or 4 hour walking tour that started in an older part of Tokyo and took us to the middle of the city. Only thing I wish we had a chance to do was visit an Art Gallery, and if I were to go back again I'd want to go visit Super Mario World or whatever it's called, or the Nintendo museum.

Adam Buckley

No one watched it last year, but I'm glad a few people here really enjoyed it and want it back. MAYBE in January I'll do something similar (I mentioned in another comment, maybe a "5 best and 5 worst games I played in 2024").

Adam Buckley

This is the first I'm hearing of it, which suggests that maybe it wouldn't be? Trying to take an audience and move it to another platform, OR rebuild entirely from scratch on another platform is INCREDIBLY hard. That's why every single time one of these disgraced channels gets unbanned on Twitch, they run straight back to it, rather than staying on Rumble or Kick, because there's no audience on those other platforms, and I would imagine this is the same right now. Sadly, the only way to beat YouTube is to somehow have about a billion users on your platform almost immediately, and I don't think anyone's gonna figure out how to make that happen.

Adam Buckley

Next year? I don't imagine Project Century will come out in 2025 but if it does... that one. Outer Worlds 2, and of course Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii are probably the ones I'm most looking forward to, as well as hopefully Hades 2 being finished (I've been playing it in Early Access though and I love it). Personal GOTYs right now? I'm not sure I should say, since a BUNCH of people here want me to do the "Review every game I played" video, so I might do something similar as a Patreon exclusive (maybe "5 worst and 5 best?")

Adam Buckley

Maybe, like a Worst of the Worst, I also mentioned to someone else here the possibility of a March Madness style voting tournament where I let you guys decide what the worst Worst song of all time is.

Adam Buckley

There aren't any videos that just completely don't exist now as far as I know (besides Realtalk Rudy or the Bitch Better Have My Money Autopsy, but they're both available here), all my really old web-only ones exist on Bandcamp in a collection called "The Early Years". In the very early days there were a couple of scripts I wrote and then just never recorded, famously one about Amy Winehouse that I wrote maybe 2 or 3 minutes worth of and then decided not to continue, and one in my REALLY early days about "canker sores" that I felt was too out of character (it was very Maddox-influenced, me being like "scientists should stop working on cancer since they're not getting anywhere with it anyway, and start working on cankers!" or some dumb thing, meant to be funny but I knew people would take it too seriously.

Adam Buckley

I really dislike Christmas movies, so that would require me to watch them in order to rank them, which I don't want to do to myself. I really only like Christmas Vacation and maybe Bad Santa, and Trading Places takes place during Christmas and New Years. The rest all tie for the Worst.

Adam Buckley

Can't say as I've heard of it, sorry. It doesn't really seem like something I'd be into.

Adam Buckley

Yes, there's some adlibbing but the whole thing was scripted by me, based on the types of videos goobers were making about me at that time. Glad you enjoyed it, YouTube certainly didn't!

Adam Buckley

I actually thought of doing a tournament type thing maybe for fun some time, maybe the Worst and 2nd Worst Song of each year, and then do a "March Madness" voting tournament here or something. We'll see, maybe in March?

Adam Buckley

Yeah, for a while I was watching a couple episodes every night (found a guy who had them all uploaded on YouTube), I'm pretty well caught up and have been watching the new ones (usually on a two or three day delay). I haven't read his books, but I'm aware of them. I'm not a big "murder mystery" fan.

Adam Buckley

When I did Plenty of Pricks, I was getting those messages from my friends who were single and using dating apps at the time, and I trusted that they were actual screenshots from them. The problem with doing it any other way is I have to really trust the people sending them to me are sending me REAL screenshots and not submitting something they found online or something they've doctored/manufactured. I want it to be authentic.

Adam Buckley

What's your Christmas tradition and do you enjoy it? I mean other then the worst songs of the year, more of in your personal life

Please may I hear your current opinions on Doug Ford and him ripping out bike lanes in Toronto, as know you expressed your disdan for him in the past? Saw about it on your fellow Londoner's channel NotJustBikes. Actually, I wonder what you think of him too 🀣

Elizabeth Coates

Over the course of your 15 years of doing the year end worst songs list, which year do you think overall had the worst music?

I know you hate unions, but have you ever acknowledged recently that they be a necessary evil for many industries? Yeah, some are no better than these businesses, but as recently shown, we need them now more than ever since these companies have become more exploitative thanks to looser regulations.

Ben Jackson

Do you have a list of all the youtubers who've beefed with you in the past?

Fun note: I work in the insurance industry myself. Auto, not health, but now every executive meeting that comes around our corporate headquarters started coming around with two to four 6ft or 7ft dudes patrolling the premises. Funny how the world changes so quickly

Q1: I've been curious-- what kind of music DO you enjoy, if any? Q2: Do you own any pets? Q3: Do you think Luigi will get the death penalty, considering he killed one of the richest people on the planet? Obviously, you're no lawyer, I would just like your opinion on it.

I’ve wondered for a while how you made your decision to commit to the (semi-)weekly Dose. I recall a while back, mid-2010’s, you seemed to be winding down pretty decisively. Like, you didn’t seem to enjoy the work anymore, if I remember correctly. I’m glad that’s no longer the case! What revelations, experiences, and/or decisions brought you back to the mic??

King Kryptonite

Hello, when will you do your next "Advice No One Asked For"/"Patreon Asked For?" It's always been my favorite segment and it's been a while. Also, are there any other older segments you plan on bringing back? I also really enjoyed "Every Video Game I Played This Year" from last year.

Got a couple gaming relating questions for ya Buckley. Are there any games (big or indie) that you are looking forward to in the next year or so? Backlog stuff can count too if it's something you've been meaning to get to, or whatnot. And along the same lines, what game or games did you enjoy the most this year, kind of a personal GOTY? Thanks as always for the content, and I hope you enjoy some time off for the holidays good sir!

Hi Buckley, forgive me if you’ve answered this before, would you ever consider to bring back a former series like Plenty of Pricks. I was watching your old videos and those PoP videos you did were hilarious. If not, your Rage Reviews are hilarious too. Huge fan BTW. Your content is amazing
