Buckley looks at the story of Jeniffer Castro (not a spelling mistake), a Brazilian woman who went viral after a woman tried to shame her for making a child move on an airplane, and she received a mix of hate and support for the incident. Now she wants to sue... but can you sue for damages from an altercation when you come out richer than you were?! A story about how to lose all your sympathy in a short period of time!

She's another great example of someone trying to claim they didn't want to be famous, and then doing everything in their power to be more famous. The Internet has a long memory but a short attention span, if a video goes viral and people are making fun of you on Twitter? They'll stop in like a week, unless you did something actually illegal or something. Then it'll be back to your normal life.

2025-04-03 03:51:10 +0000 UTCRidiculing someone who sitting in a child seat, filming it, and putting it online is very embarrassing. I wouldn’t want to be publicly humiliated like that. I can look at it from two sides though. She shouldn’t have been sitting in the child seat, but at the same time, the parents should have taught the child to suck it up and move to another seat. That their life wasn’t going to be over just because somebody else chose their seat.
