Q&A - Spring 2025
Added 2025-05-18 16:00:14 +0000 UTCI'm a little overdue for a Q&A, I know at one point I promised these more frequently, but I was starting to get a lot of very similar questions so I thought maybe I'd start spreading them out a bit more. Anyway, on to this, the first Q&A of 2025! It just so happens to be on a Canadian Holiday weekend (hence the photo). As always feel free to ask me (almost) anything, questions about my creative process, questions about my thoughts on topics I may not have talked about this year yet, hypothetical questions about how many men it would take to beat up a certain type of animal, whatever you'd like to ask. I will reply to the questions over the next week or so RIGHT HERE, a reminder I don't really do the "Patreon Goes Postal" videos anymore, since no one really liked them, so if you're interested in answers to other people's questions, just come back to this thread in a few days (and you should get some sort of alert or notification when I answer yours).
I also haven't really done an "Advice Patreon Asked For" lately, so if you'd like to submit a question for that, feel free to send me those as a Private Message. Try and keep them relatively short (should take around a minute or less to read out loud) and somewhat light-hearted (I'm not out to ruin lives here, and I'm not a real doctor so I can't help with actual serious problems).

Good question, I've never really thought about it. Initial thoughts are that he almost definitely would be wearing a bathrobe with crocks, some sort of really silly boxers, like either really cliched heart-print ones, or something like... Ninja Turtles branded or something. And then a pair of sunglasses, but also a second pair of sunglasses on his head.

Also just want so say I actually really like his and Camila Cabello's song "I LUV IT", even though you put it on your Worst Songs list. I just find it really catchy.

I turned the car in after my lease, and they fucked me for about $2000+, they tried to get even more but I was able to fight some of it (like they wanted $300 or some nonsense for a "broken Keyfob", the battery was just dead!) and the dealership didn't tell them the car had been turned in, so I had to pay another month's lease for a car I didn't even have anymore... I had dealt with them for 3 cars, but because of COVID at the time and both me and my girlfriend's job situations changing, we didn't need 2 cars anymore, so we went down to 1, and my girlfriend's car still had a year or two to go on her lease, so I didn't get a 4th Nissan. I guess that's what my brand loyalty was worth to them... "Oh, you're not getting a new car right this moment? Well then fuck you we're dinging you for every single little charge we can possibly get you on".

2025-05-26 15:14:40 +0000 UTCMy understanding is that it can be pretty tough, especially right now with all of the stuff regarding international students (we've cut the number we'll take each year) and just cutting the numbers in general. I imagine it would be easier if they have a job lined up here, or whatever they're taking in college is something Canada has a shortage of, like doctors/certain specialists, nurses, that sort of thing.

2025-05-20 17:51:54 +0000 UTCI did a video on Patreon about this, I don't know if it really IS overpriced. Obviously I'd prefer it if video games were like... $50 and consoles could be $300. That'd be great. But based on inflation, old SNES games cost like $120 in today's dollars, and they were made by like 12 people. And when compared to other forms of entertainment, $80 or $90 or whatever for a video game is a steal compared to like... comic books or seeing a movie in a theater, dollar-per-hour-wise. The issue isn't that video games are more expensive, it's that EVERYTHING is more expensive, and inflated way way worse (housing prices or rent for example). Either way, the market can ultimately decide prices, and the market is going to buy these things up and probably scalp them when there's a shortage. It's too bad people have such poor impulse control. I won't be buying one until they go on sale in a year or so.

2025-05-20 00:20:39 +0000 UTCWhen you say "getting into", do you mean to just watch, or to try and learn how to do it for yourself? The second one's a lot trickier. The first one, as much as he's hated now I'd say literally any of Louis CK's earlier stuff is a masterclass... sadly Norm never did a lot of specials, which is too bad, but the "Hitler's Dog" one that's on Netflix was decent. Several of Carlin's 80s ones are exceptional, Lewis Black's stuff from any time period... one of the specials that got me into rant comedy in the first place was Denis Leary's "No Cure for Cancer", which I didn't realize until later he ripped off Bill Hicks quite a bit but either way, if you want to see MY starting point that'll pretty well do it. Anthony Jeselnik's "Fire in the Maternity Ward" is amazing, and I believe Dave Chappelle's "For What it's Worth" is the one with the classic Sunny D bit, but the rest of that show is great too if you can find it. As for doing stand up... I really don't care much for the process. I like doing my stuff where I write something, record it, and send it out into the world and it's done. Stand up requires SO MUCH rehearsal and telling the same jokes over and over. I love watching it and I respect the art of it, but I've done it a couple times now and it's just not a process I enjoy doing.
