Poll regarding possible F-15 RWR sounds change
Added 2024-07-20 23:32:19 +0000 UTCHi all! I hope everyone is doing well! The next update to the mod will be coming soon and will bring new F-4 RWR sounds. There will also be some minor fixes and additions. One of these additions is a possible change in the F-15 RWR.
As it currently stands, all F-15s use the F-15E RWR sounds. This isn't necessarily realistic, but worked as a good alternative due to the fact there wasn't any clean F-15C RWR audio available. This has now changed, however, and I now have access to clean audio of the C variant.
The F-15C RWR, however, sounds vastly different from the F-15E RWR we currently have, so I'm giving you guys the option to choose. Either keep the current RWR sounds or get it changed to the F-15C sounds. Place your vote below.

2024-07-24 02:46:22 +0000 UTCYes, this is the only way to specify what aircraft is in use by the player without having access to the game code. That's only scratching the surface, though, without listing the dozen of issues that come with such a system. It's also the reason why I can't give certain variants of aircraft their own RWR, since a lot of the time, a bunch of aircraft share the same engine sound event. Such as all MiG-21's, including the new Bison.

I did hear from the devs though that they are working on a mechanism that allows sounds to be bound to every single vehicle (finally). No release date on that so far but definitely some exciting news
