Storm Warning update

Hey everyone! So, here we are again—another update post. Due to Gaijin's schedule delays, the time between these updates was incredibly short. This unfortunately means that the mod needs another compatibility update.

As you all know, I will have to wait once again for Gaijin to update the project for sound modders here https://github.com/GaijinEntertainment/fmod_studio_warthunder_for_modders

I've reached out to the contact who manages the project at Gaijin and asked if we could at least see an update before Christmas. I'll let you all know when I get more info.

For now, the only issues I've run into are missing engine & gun sounds for the newly introduced aircraft, such as the EF2000 Typhoon and the Rafale. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to fix this at the moment.

If you still want to use my sounds with one of those aircraft, I'd highly suggest downloading one of the Single RWRs from my WTlive here. If you do, just make sure to only use the aircraft_gui.bank and aircraft_gui.assets.bank files. You won't have the Multi-RWR functionality with these versions, but at least you'll have working sounds.

That's all from me for now. I'll try my best to update and fix the mod as soon as I can, but it's in Gaijin's hands for now, unfortunately.

Have a great day!

A'ight. And yeah, that was just an example. Really MAW sounds just need to be more urgent warnings than LWS warnings

Yep i know, just thought i’d clarify whilst im at it. I could probably come up with alternatives for the MAW sounds. Though i wouldn’t want it to sound too crazy since i don’t want it to mix weirdly with the RWR sounds.

VikoHusky

What isn't working, exactly? Also, make sure you aren't mixing any mods or different versions of my mod. This installation video goes over the entire process. If you follow that it should work fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-7_vMjKPz8

Done and still nothing, does it make a difference if I'm using the launcher instead of steam?

SpaghettiBandit

Please make sure you only have .bank files present in your mod folder

ive downloaded the v10.0 pack from WT live and the multi rwr pack from here and put it into the sound file inside a new mod file and it isnt working. I get some red text in wt menu that says sound mod active but its the same as before. ive changed the config file text too.

SpaghettiBandit

A'ight cool. I feel like I should clarify, by the way, the VWS thing wasn't a complaint. Regarding MAW tones, I suppose it would just be figuring out alternative missile tones that sound fitting for the aircraft. Perhaps the MAW tone with the F-16 could be shorter, more rapid beeps that maybe play continuously instead of having gaps, for example

Arnyx

1. Most likely, but it won't be purely limited to that 2. Maybe? I haven't decided yet since I'm unaware of what the MAW tones sound like on the F-16AM PIDS pylon for example. 3. Yes, it's done this way since I want my mod to have unique sounds and feel immersive/semi-realistic, whilst also not putting the player at a disadvantage. This is also the reason for example as to why the F-16 launch tones play more frequent and don't have as long of a pause between them. IRL, the tones actually have a very long gap of silence between them for like 30 seconds. This isn't preferred with the fast-paced gameplay WT has at top tier, where awareness is extremely important. The Betty VWS in my mod also dates back to when the directional missile warnings were still a thing on jets. Actual IRL VWS doesn't have these, but I still wanted them to be present in my mod because of the disadvantage point i mentioned earlier. The only available voice lines that had these lines were the from the F-15C module.

I'm personally using the Tornado sounds for it. Just feels appropriate. Would I be correct in assuming that your custom EF sounds will probably be based on those? Also, will you be adding custom MAW sounds to things that lack them? (eg. F-16) Also also, I find it funny that like half of Betty's voice lines in this are fictitious, since what they're pulled from is an "extra assistance" option in the DCS module. The F-15C doesn't *actually* have a VWS. But I'm sure you already knew this.
