It's here and 2 days early! I wanted to give you all the weekend to play around with the newest version. Less changes this time but more focused changes:
As some of you may know these cars come with DSSV shocks (dynamic suspensions spool valve). These act inherently very different compared to normal shocks. Utilizing LUA we've managed to script this functionality into existence as a first for Assetto Corsa. You'll notice a significant change over bumps and kerbs compared to before.
The tire model also was revisited. We've managed to fix a lot of the inherent issues with the tire from team feedback and from your feedback as well. You'll notice the steering feels much more appropriate all-throughout the range and no longer has a significant drop off of FFB at the limit.
We also revisited the CAD model we have of the suspension as well as a new one we have of the steering rack and corrected a few of the joints. However, in doing so, the COSMIC suspension solver seemingly has taken issue with the steering links and induced a vibration when the car is stationary. I've been told this is not fixable, however, I'm willing to bet I'll have this resolved for 0.5b next month. In the mean-time, please do the following to avoid the steering oscillation that occurs when you apply brakes when the car is stationary:
CM > Settings > Assetto Corsa > Controls > Force Feedback
> Low speed threshold: 1 km/h
> Low speed FFB strength: 0%
=================================
Finally, we've official started our collaboration with Mike Krybus, the audio genius behind all of VRC, IER, and other team's audio. You can find some of the early versions on our YouTube, but, at this time we've agreed to not release the audio until it's perfected for version 1.0!
As always, thank you for your support of this project, your continued membership is what helps pay for the cost to hire the best audio engineer in the Assetto Corsa community!
Please do not hesitate to provide feedback on 0.4b below or on discord. If you post videos or screenshots, don't forget to tag us!
