iskander really just read Saber to filth lol. She was basically saying that she was a terrible king and like Iskander said a true king wouldn't regret their decisions at all whether they were wrong or right. Favorite character!!

A king should do his best to serve the people as well as lead them. In addition to envy, kings should be worthy of praise. The problem is that Saber took her ideology to its utmost limits. A young girl gave up her hopes, dreams and the end of her childhood to commit herself to being a martyr for her country, dooming her to the most tormented of lives. Whether as a king or otherwise, Iskandar's most poignant words are: "that isn't how a person should live."

2020-03-18 14:59:05 +0000 UTCThe banquet of kings is by far my favorite scene in all of the Fate franchise. The clash of ideologies is EVERYTHING. What's most interesting about the dialogue is that none of them is 100% correct. Saber is naive and overly idealistic. She babied her subjects and as a result the country crumbled without her. Rider is a bloodthirsty tyrant who prioritized glory over the prosperity of his people. And Gilgamesh...is Gilgamesh. In my opinion, a split between saber and riders mentality with a tiny bit of Gilgamesh’s charisma is correct.
