How hesitant they are to even fully relent for the person that they love the most! Also, I can see Jam in this writing, because well, she doesn't have bad intentions. Because if Mal makes her beg, she wants to hear Mal beg a little in return? Hell, even if it's a game, it's a fun, shared pleasure game? (NOT TO MAL, but she'd have to learn that the hard way). JoJo is so considerate of Mal, if Mal gave her one of those stares, she would fold so fast. She wouldn't trigger that shift, I'll say (the girl barely keeps herself in check at the best of times, becca would just need to reach out and she would fall into her arms and cover her in kisses. If there's a way to trigger her being more dominant the same way she's taking the initiative to be comforting and protective atm, she may trigger THAT tho...) But like... gosh. Heck.
