So when faced with such loving care from J and R Micheal is left stunned and insecure due to his inexperience in providing care (lots of overthinking and feelings of not doing or being enough) I can see Micheal offering R and J to either share a cigarette, or reading a book to them both things he has never done before with anyone he shared a bed with. It will be a learning experience but one Micheal will be grateful for.
