Imagine this^ GIF, but instead of: "Raise your hand if you've ever felt victimized by Regina George", we replace that with the R. Verner denial run. (I know I'm writing it, but 🤚😌.)
The angsty tension
This is just a slice of a potential scene set to possibly broaden your horizons in Fernweh. This Preview has a lot of choices working together to alter scenes. I tease a few potential combos you may wish to try, though playing your tried-and-true route/way is always awesome too!

I'm so glad you love it! It's fun for me to write the difference--that internal push/pull. The banter is one of my favorite aspects of these two + this route because it can have more of an edge at times and be quicker. 🥰🖤

J could set your shoulder back into place, dw. 💚 I love that you catch up on it out of curiosity to read the difference in scenes/vibe/behavior. Its tension is 🥹, but also the angst that comes with some of the banter and the denial on the MC's side, though we've seen that R can sometimes react to them interestingly too if pushed. Ugh, I want to tease something about their yearning... I shan't, but there is a line they say that I know you'll trigger that brings up their lonely smile. (I don't think you'll get them being subdued though unless Alex really commits to one thing at the end. I don't think they'd do that to R though.) *intensely believes in them, except I wrote the variations so I support them either way* (It's also bad if you let down J because R or B (your bestie who knows) will try and 'help', which has, uhm, varying results. JR's though, ah. I'll tell you one variable that entirely alters that one that isn't obvious; well, unless I hide that scene from the build.... I'll ask Midnight's opinion.) 👀 I won't say anything about the flashlight scene(S) (yes, please explore the ways in which R can be so 'normal' about this light source). Alex laughing at the engraving reminds me of R's reaction in the first book. XD I would be rooting for you! (Gently) knock some sense into them that won't really come into play until maybe Book 3/4; we hope? Depending on how messy things get with a particular someone + plot elements. The 'despite someone's best efforts' made me smile. (Now, I'm more excited for the Preview because of how things can play out.) Also, your R 'yapping' (affectionate) was closer to a Verner-locked thesis (what you mentioned about R getting the MC to talk had me nodding) that I love. 🖤

Verner why Humble him The snippet made me feel like i fell down a thousand stairs. Btw We definitely cant turn away from R MC LOCK IN. ON GOD.
