Hello everyone! Post got a little delayed this time. But all that matters is that it's here right?
You might've noticed the new header drawing. Well - that's because I want to turn these monthly requests into something like diaries on top of the requests! I'll draw a new cover image for every month. Unless it's something super specific, it will always be either Yumeko or Shinki on it, or both. And it will always be related to whatever happened in the last month...
So this time January had its ups and downs. I received many incredible things for my birthday and something I had commissioned finished on new years. Sadly, I don't think I'm allowed to show it off though.... (Why is this guy mentioning it then???)
However, the fatigue of not being able to draw what I wanted to draw hit me hard and now I've been all over the place. I also have had a ton of headaches lately.
The result: I've been drawing less. Now it's a little difficult to get back into the knack of things, but I'll manage. It's a little like my head has become completely empty and all it has been doing lately was full of regret. Now all that stuff has been dealt with, so it is slowly time to rehabilitate. My head is still empty, but at the very least my heart thinks about what it wants, which is the only important thing.
This month I have also picked up 2 new games. One of them being The Binding of Isaac (It was a birthday present, thanks a lot!) which was a really fun roguelike. I didn't spoil myself of what all the items do and I just kept heading in with 0 ideas about how to play the game until it worked. It took me a while, but eventually I managed to defeat the big boss. The game goes all in on an ugly aesthetic which was something I wasn't really used to, but it was a welcome deviation from my standard either way.
I haven't played the DLC of it yet, but I heard that enhances the game a lot. Perhaps I'll get it eventually, but I've already moved on for now..
The other game I picked up this month was Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness. Been waiting for a big sale on it, and it was finally sold for just about 8 euros.
Long story short: I really really like the game, however I don't think I can finish it anytime soon. I encountered some bug that makes getting back home really frustrating, as it keeps overwriting my save file. I have no idea what is triggering it either, so I don't know if I feel like going through another 3 hours of trying to make it back just to have my save file corrupted again...
The exploration in the game is super fun though. You are a little weakling in there and you constantly need to make decisions that will heavily impact whether or not you can make it back alive. It is incredibly easy to softlock yourself, but overcoming a situation where you feel like there is no turning back from, is incredibly satisfying.
Given I also really like Lethal Company, I maybe just like games where I am the weakest?
The game's environment also looks really beautiful that I could just keep walking around for hours.

I really do not suggest buying it at full price though. What it does good it does really good, but things like boss battles are really lackluster and the game doesn't really reward you a lot for exploring or killing strong monsters.
My favorite part is how they actually managed to capture the feeling of being a cave raider. You just want to go in deeper and deeper and you wanna know what's next, but you dread going back up again. You don't even want to think about going home Really cool.
I ended up spending a lot of time with the game, so Yumeko's doing some climbing up there. Would the curse of the abyss even affect someone like her? She's not human, but she's not inanimate either. That said, the monsters of the abyss don't seem to mind it, and if you think about it, Yumeko is quite the monster too!
Another cool thing that happened was that I've got a glass cabinet now. Before that I only ever really put effort into my desk, but maybe having a cool looking room would be nice too...

Perhaps I could make prints of my drawings to put in here too?
...
Anyway, that's it for this month. Now let me see those requests!
