Update - NFTs, Sandbox and H19

It is about time to get you guys up to speed. These last few weeks were a hectic mess. But I am starting to sort things out and get back to business.

First - let me remind you guys about the discord server. 

I continue to give quick updates there and it is easier to catch me there for a quick question.

So let me catch you up on the latest stuff. 

So in the past few weeks I did some research about the NFT space. About existing projects, how they work, how a single person can create value through NFTs for a community.

I also started to learn the coding side of smart contracts. There is a huge wave of technologie heading into our direction. Houdini, Unreal and Blockchain... it is not yet clear to me how - but I am very sure that these areas will create some form of synergy in the future.

I am not sure in what direction this will go since alot of people either don't know about NFTs or don't want to have anything to do with it.

But I am pretty sure that I will create something at some point. Heck it would be fairly easy to already create some form of basic token and allow you as supporters the option to mint that NFT for free.

Then in turn the way would be open to create blockchain enabled content and value. It is all very interesting to me but needs alot of additional thinking about what would create value. 

BUT while I find it interesting - don't worry - whatever is coming out of this - you will always find what I create here without ever needing to touch a NFT. It would just be something additional and you would have the option to jump in.

In context of that I am interested in "The Sandbox" it is a "metaverse game" using a voxel based game engine still in Alpha....  which sounds like nonsense if you are not  that space - but the idea is that there is digital land that you can own and create game experiences that are basically hosted on that land.

It is still in the works but it is very likely that i will optain some land in the sandbox due to a partnership I have with a nft project. 

In combination with a NFT project I could have exclusive sections for holders and we could hang out together ;-) 

But again - thats just me going bananas with ideas in my head.

While in research I am creating a map utilizing houdini to layout the level. The tools that come out of that are very specific but I am sure there is a way to use them either by reverse engineering the concept or to change it towards another game engine.

After creating a plan in Houdini using different methods to create floor layouts and then "simulate" using the voxel sized blocks like Sandboxes own game maker tool

It becomes alot easier to actually sketch out ideas in that software... which is sadly not at all procedural. But thats where Houdini comes to the rescue.

Finally let me catch you up on some things around Houdini. I had the opportunity to already play around with H19 during its Beta period.

The procedural mech system that I was working on was done in H19. You might have noticed that it got a bit quite around that setup.

I am currently in talks with SideFX if they could use me in  their Titan project. In that case I would use the foundation of that setup to create something slightly different but with a similar focus on procedural mesh with a kinefx skeleton.

BUT it is very early on that front - so in case it turns out not to happen I start recording it on my own - as planned before.
