Houdini Fireworks (Full setup)

I started with the firework shelf tool thinking that it will give me the ultimate solution, but as most of you know it doesn't do much, so I built a new system from the ground up with a couple of explosion shapes (spheres, variable angle cones, circles with uniform distribution ....) I'll add more in future releases.

Basic setup:

- Will feature the variable cone explosion where you will be able to set the random angle limits for the explosion 0 > 360 full sphere.

- Color control where each blast will have a different color of your choice and in each color I made a random values between explosion strands.

- Fade by age.

- Particle scale.

- Materials and render settings (Redshift of course).

Full setup, in addition it will contain:

- All explosion shapes (Halo spheres and circles).

Not possible with this setup sadly, only those three with some randomness are possible, but for sure I'll consider creating a custom shape explosion.

Thanks, is it possible to get custom shapes for the blast? is there a way to link another sim to the blast or customize the pop replicator to get a different shape like text?

Hey Jimmy, well all the three shapes are controlled from the same node: - dive down the popnet. - find the only back drop under the name "velocity applied to the just born particles in blast". - inside that pop wrangle you will find the formula to control the shape, in the file there are three shapes, I'll go through them in the following order: - the first one is a cone where the "a" controls the spread angle for each explosion and the default is set to 45-180. "r" controls the explosion strength, you can randomize it if you want. - The second is Perfect spheres, here there is nothing much you can do, I used this formula "v@v = sample_direction_uniform(rand(@id));" . - The last one is circles, also nothing much to do with it. I hope I answered your questions and if you have any desired shape you are after I'll be happy to help with.

Hi, it's a little bit confusing how you did it. Could you post a video showing what you did please? I wonder if is it possible to get a different shape for the blast.
