November Update

Hi Everyone! Checking in with another update.

The Book 2 rewrite is 80% done, including all the new scenes I set out to write. Here’s a quick rundown of those (feel free to skip straight to the Google Doc and search "new scene" if you'd rather read them with zero spoilers):

New Kalden Flashback 1: He and Akari meet in his backyard as kids in Last Haven.

New Kalden Flashback 2: He talks to Akari in Last Haven High School and asks to train together again. Immediately after this, we get his reaction to the flashback in the present timeline, and some more setup for the Kalden/Akari romance.

New Akari Flashback: Akari’s mother teaches her the basics of time mana. This was a scene I considered writing for Book 5, but it made more sense to put it here because she’s learning the very basics, and Book 5 Akari should already know this stuff.

And you can search “new scene” to find all the new scenes in the manuscript. I'd recommend checking them out, since they foreshadow Kalden and Akari's arcs for Book 5!

It should all be smooth sailing from here, since I don’t expect any big changes in the last 20% of Book 2. With that in mind, I should be on track to start posting Book 5 chapters in early December of this year!

Thanks for reading, and for being patient while I work through things. Book 5 has been a hard book to outline, because so much happens, so I think the extra effort will pay off!
