Ramen Waitress Illustration Process
Added 2024-08-26 05:55:03 +0000 UTCHad a lot of lovey feelings lately I wanted to express through them, and ended up making an illustration inspired by a song I really like. I always start my pieces extremely vague just to capture the general shape and position of the characters and add as I go. The reason my art is so sketchy is because it typically starts out as chicken scratch and then I go back in and fill out the forms of the characters, usually treating what most would consider the proper sketch as the lineart lol. For this illustration though, I wanted it to be a bit neater, so I did a few passes before settling on something. Then I colored it and went back in and boldened out lines and details (and finally adjusted some colors and anatomy stuff ). Ironically I think Leo's hair might be a bit too stiff in this as a result, I really do prefer when it just goes nuts and gets super wild 😂 but ah well. Leo and Hazel's relationship (platonic or otherwise) is one of my favorite things about my story, I really can't wait to explore it because it just makes me so happy. It's so hard not to give too much away about it! Also copying that font from the album art manually by hand was a challenge, but I did it! Wahoo!
