Box of Secrets Illustration + Speedpaint

Wanted to try out something a little different after someone requested I start recording my art! My process is often very random and impulsive so I'm not sure if it'll make sense to anyone lol but it was kind of neat to figure out. The reason I don't usually record speedpaints is because I get crazy stage-fright I guess? when being recorded. Even if technically no one's watching me the fact I know it's being recorded messes with me a bit. So I wouldn't say this is particularly typical, sometimes I get the composition I want first try and other times this happens lmao

This was inspired by Blood Red Shoes' Box of Secrets, been listening to a lot of that album lately and I've always liked the art for it. But I just could not figure out how I wanted it to look so half the speedpaint is me making a bunch of failed attempts 😭 but I guess some of them are kinda cool. I made this pretty much as a result of that one request which is also part of the reason why it's so all over the place, I might try to record more in the future because it is fun looking back on! I'm just a pretty unorganized person in general so going back to the saved layers has always just been easier for me lol. But who knows, maybe this was the push I needed! Probably still won't do it for all of them though haha
