And now to the Dark Elves!

The Dark Elves  are one of the three elven civilisations. They are the descendants of  those who supported prince Malekith in his failed bid to ascend to the  Phoenix Throne of Ulthuan. When Malekith was rejected and burned alive  by the Flames of Asuryan, his followers fled from Ulthuan to the western  continent of Naggaroth. There, ruled by Malekith who they now know as  the Witch King, they become a cruel and bitter slaving nation sustained  by constant raids on the younger races and their cousins on Ulthuan. Six  millennia on, their ancestral feud against the High Elves has not  ended. Their many attempts to retake Ulthuan have since been thwarted  but Malekith's ambition remains unchanged; his fortunes may yet change.

http://www.lustria-online.com/thread...-issues.15973/ Town Cryer Issue 12

Sorcerers = Though Dark Elves of both genders are capable of  master the art of dark magic, male sorcerers are regarded with disdain,  fear and suspicion -- a situation only exacerbated by generous bounties  Malekith offers for such a being's severed head.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sorceresses

Black Ark Fleetmasters = Little wonder is it then that Black  Ark Fleetmasters are amongst the most intemperate and ruthless of their  race, and must always have one eye on their 'loyal' warriors.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...k_Ark_Corsairs

 Cults

 Cult of Khaine

War Altar = Listed  on page 35 in the 3rd edition. “Dark Elf sacrificial altars may be  brought right up to the slaughter fields in readiness for victory  celebrations. The presence of an altar fills the warriors with predatory  zeal lest the gods be disappointed.”

https://www.scribd.com/doc/175292173/Wfb-Storm-of-Chaos

The Hung = Most recently, many Hung have fallen under the  control of Morathi, the Dark Elf Hag Queen and mother of the Malekith  the Witch King. To reinvigorate the cult of Slaanesh amongst her people,  she and a coven of cultists travelled north to wrest control of the  Hung for her own sinister purposes. A great many tribes joined her and  followed her south to Lustria, though to what end, none can say.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hung

http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ereth_Khial

There are mentions in the 2nd edition, and elsewhere, of humans  that are native to Naggaroth who are enslaved by the dark elves.

Slave Warriors (Elves) = Same as above, but elven slaves instead of humans. It’s from Citadel Journal.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/223190147/Citadel-Journal-21

Pursuers = Pursuers are a special martial type of pit fighter  often used for ‘warm-up fights’ before the main show. These men are  usually lightly armed with spears, nets and javelins with which they  harry their enemies in a hit and run style of warfare. This style of  fighting dates back to ancient times in Tilea when gladiators, as they  were known in the Tilean tongue, would fight in massive stone arenas to  huge crowds.
http://www.lustria-online.com/thread...-issues.15973/ Town Cryer Issue 21

http://www.lustria-online.com/thread...-issues.15973/ Town Cryer Issue 21

 Infantry

http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Guard

Sisters of Slaughter = The Sisters fight as they live, moment  to moment, with every gut-spilling swipe and viper-quick slash going  unplanned until the second it is unleashed. Those who have no seen the  Sisters of Slaughter at their quicksilver trade mock their talents,  refusing to believe that mere instinct -- however finely honed -- could  replace discipline and training.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...s_of_Slaughter

https://www.scribd.com/doc/59162764/...sy-Armies-Book

Cold One Beasthounds = The Dark Elves capture and breed many  exotic creatures to fight for them and fights between pets are often  staged as a form of entertainment amongst the Dark Elves. Distantly  related to Cold Ones, these creatures live in swamps and bogs. They are  larger than war dogs and of a similar build, but are in all other  respect reptilian.
http://www.lustria-online.com/thread...-issues.15973/ Town Cryer Issue 12
https://www.scribd.com/doc/59162764/...sy-Armies-Book

Bloodwrack Medusae = A Bloodwrack Medusa's gaze is a fearsome  weapon; should a victim's eyes lock with hers for even a second, his  lifeblood violently rebels, flooding from every pore until his body  collapses into a pool of its own gore. It is to guard against this that  the shrinekeepers -- priestesses so beguiled by their goddess that the  act of worship has become their chief pleasure -- wear masks polished to  a mirror-like sheen.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...dwrack_Medusae

The Royal Hydra = Lord Malekith believes in rewarding his  subjects for successes in war. When word reaches him of a stunning  victory, or a great feat of carnage wrought by one of his War Hydra’s  and its team of Beastmaster apprentices, the Witch King will summon them  all to Naggarond. There, the beast masters will engage in a two-week  binge of decadence in Malekith’s palace. They eat the finest foods, and  drink the rarest wines, all of which have dark blessings from the Witch  King himself. On the final night of revelry, Malekith casts a final  spell upon them and they are led to the royal bestiary where their Hydra  awaits. It is a great honour that Lord Malekith himself, the rightful  ruler of all Elvenkind, commands their Hydra to devour them both alive.  It is then that the dark energies woven over the fortnight take full  effect. Howls of agony echo throughout Naggarond as the Hydra is warped  by the Witch King’s sorcery. The creature’s blood transforms into a  powerful acid, and protective plates of bone burst through its hide.  Every mutation is unique, but the resulting creature (along with a new  beast master team) will stay in the Witch King’s personal bestiary until  it dies or is sent to one of Malekith’s generals. Has armour plates for  more defence, acid breath and if it is wounded acid blood spills over  the attackers.

The Spellthirster = Beastmaster Rakarth once fought a  particularly bitter battle against the traitorous High Elves of Ulthuan.  e led an army in which he had amassed the largest force of War Hydras  in Druchii history. With 9 of the mighty beasts at his command, he  predicted a swift victory. The wizards Liandus, Ellyunnor and Aliana,  however, accompanied the enemy. Within minutes, their combined magical  barrage had whittled the Hydra’s number down to three; two of which  broke and fled the field. Rakarth vowed never to be defeated by High  magic again, and forged a pact with Morathi. She spun her spells over  the surviving Hydra, known as Daerlythe, or ‘Burning Fury’. Dark magic  mutated the creature tremendously. Daerlythe’s skin began to glow with  burning blue-black energy; and great rents opened in his flesh where  Morathi had ritually carved dread runes. During his next appearance on  the battlefield it was found that he was physically weakened but had  also developed a strong resistance to magic, especially High Magic. A  breeding program was soon established, and Daerlythe was retired from  battle. To this day only one in ten of his offspring shares his  abilities. It has only three heads, and it has an aura that gives magic  resistance to nearby Dark Elves but also High Spells get rebound towards  the caster.
Found in White Dwarf Issue 260

Veteran War Hydras = If a War Hydra survives and remains with  the same Beastmasters for long enough, they can become a truly fierce  fighting team. Hydras are intelligent enough to learn from each battle,  and a good beast master can refine their abilities with rewards and  lashings. For notable battlefield successes, generals may reward their  beast masters with minor incantations to augment their Hydra’s already  impressive battlefield prowess. Recognisable on the battlefield by the  number of adornments and tropics, experienced Hydras are a terrifying  and unpredictable foe. Has a random ability; Fetch (The Hydra will  nominate a hero/lord and endeavour to bring it’s corpse back to its  owner), Escort (Bodyguards a unit), Battle Lover (Impetuous, always  charges off to the enemy), Chameleon Skinned (can hide itself), and  Bloodthirsty (aggressive).
Found in White Dwarf Issue 260

Magma Dragon = These primordial and vicious beasts are among  the strongest and most malignant of dragon-kind, their huge jaws burn  with furnace-heat and their powerful claws can crush stone and steel  with ease. Their most deadly weapon however is their Brimstone  Dragonfire which burns so bright that nothing but cinders remains of  whatever it touches. They’re found mostly in Naggoroth.
https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Magma-Dragon
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_Dragon

Manticore = Manticores are huge, leonine beasts that soar on  leathery wings. They are amongst the most powerful of all the predators  that live in the north’s mountain ranges.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Manticore

Dark Pegasus = It is from these eyries that the Dark Elves  steal young Pegasi to serve as steeds, knowing that the adults are too  savage to be trained, the Dark Elves steal the young.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Pegasi

Dragon Steed = A very old mount for Dark Elf characters. Looks  like a daemonic horse, it has hard scales on the spine and has claws.  Very evil lookin, very suitable!
http://www.sodemons.com/rhmisc/c13degeneral/index.htm

 War Machines

Bloodwrack Shrines = Now  the Bloodwrack Medusae are bent to serve Morathi's needs once more,  though in a manner entirely different to that of their former lives.  When a great campaign beckons, the Hag Sorceress sends warriors into the  caverns below the Spiteful and the squalid lairs therein. Those who  survive return to Ghrond with prisoners in tow their claws bound and  their faces masked. At Morathi's direction, the captives are chained to  Atharti's great Bloodwrack Shrines and propelled by Dark Magic to the  very forefront of the assembled armies.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...dwrack_Shrines

Scourgerunner Chariots = Small bands of Beastmasters roam the  wilds in Scourgerunner Chariots, searching fen, crag and cave for  suitable prizes. Armed with barbed nets and harpoons attached to strong  chains, they snare and immobilise their prey.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...unner_Chariots

 Elementals

Water Elemental = Has  a magical aura that protects it against weapons. They take the form of a  wave or column of water, they can move across the earth but their home  is the water. They’re malevolent spirits with wild and uncontrollable  anger. The older it is, the angrier. It’s from Citadel Journal.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/223078336/Citadel-Journal-13
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-08.jpg

Earth Elementals = Has a magical aura that protects it against  weapons. It is a huge statue-like creature composed of rock with  smouldering red eyes. It’s the strongest of all elementals but is  painfully slow and cumbersome. It’s from Citadel Journal.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/223078336/Citadel-Journal-13
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-10.jpg

Air Elementals = Has a magical aura that protects it against  weapons. It appears as a whirlwind which twists and turns its way across  the battlefield. It’s from Citadel Journal.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/223078336/Citadel-Journal-13
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-11.jpg

Fire Elementals = Has a magical aura that protects it against  weapons. Composed entirely of flames and smoke, they mimic the human  form but often have a maniacal grin on their face common to pyromaniacs  and arsonists. It’s from Citadel Journal.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/223078336/Citadel-Journal-13
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-09.jpg

Life Elementals = Life Elementals are allied to the Elementals  of the Earth. Unlike those, however, they are tall and graceful, as a  young tree or a beautiful woman. They are creatures of the growing  earth, the motivating force that gives life to plants and plant spirits.  As such, they are revered especially by the Elves (presumably High/Wood  Elves).
https://www.scribd.com/document/1421...on-Compilation
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-07.jpg

Death Elementals = The Death Elemental is allied to the  elementals of the earth, but represents the negative side of the force;  that which reclaims all living things into the bosom of the earth,  enabling continual rebirth from the soil.
https://www.scribd.com/document/1421...on-Compilation
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-07.jpg

Plague Elementals = This is an elemental of the air. Its  arrival can easily be foretold by a foul stench on the breeze, as of  rotting flesh or garbage.
https://www.scribd.com/document/1421...on-Compilation
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...ile:C34-12.jpg

 Regiments of Renown

Brides of Burning Blood = Should  a single portion of their body not be coated with the blood of their  victims then the Witch Elves believe that their offering is  unacceptable. Thus, they are sent to find more victims be the enemies or  even their fellow Dark Elves in order to appease Khaine.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Brides_of_Burning_Blood

Brides of Khaine = I know that they’re technically Witch Elves, but these could be turned into a unit that follows a similar theme to them.
https://www.scribd.com/doc/225415169...s-of-Isha-1998

Cult of the Blood Queen = Though the Cult of the Blood Queen  had been abolished, many of the crone's worshippers had maintained their  faith in secret, waiting for their mistress' call. Even a few high  elves, resentful of a reserved existence that brought them only woe, had  been drawn to Hellebron's simple creed of blood and pain.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...he_Blood_Queen

Daughters of Despair = Legend tells that whilst Hellebron's  beauty is bought with the lifeblood of her victims, the Daughters of  Despair are not so afflicted; they wear masks not to hide their ugliness  from the world, but rather to conceal their own youthful appearance  from a jealous and wrathful mistress.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ers_of_Despair

Gosforherrixx Gosforherrixx = ”A fire-breathing, seven headed hydra with gaping maw.”
The Book of Battalion - Page 27

Hag Graef Bloodscythes = . Their legend is only equal to that of the Bloodscythes, a chariot regiment from Hag Graef, lauded by the Dark Elves.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cold_Ones

Rakarth’s Vendetta = Beastmaster Rakarth once fought a  particularly bitter battle against the traitorous High Elves of Ulthuan.  e led an army in which he had amassed the largest force of War Hydras  in Druchii history. With 9 of the mighty beasts at his command, he  predicted a swift victory. The wizards Liandus, Ellyunnor and Aliana,  however, accompanied the enemy. It has only three heads, and it has an aura that gives magic  resistance to nearby Dark Elves but also High Spells get rebound towards  the caster.
Found in White Dwarf Issue 260

The Claws of Khaine = If a War Hydra survives and remains with  the same Beastmasters for long enough, they can become a truly fierce  fighting team. The Dark Covent = Chief amongst the magic-wielders of  Naggaroth are the sisters of the Dark Convent of Sorceresses who are  gathered in the great fortress of Ghrond.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sorceresses

The Lords of Oblivion = An elite regiment of Black Guard mounted on black dragons.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Guard

 Monsters of the Deep

Gargantuan = The  gargantuan’s favourite method of attack is to approach its prey from  below and wrap its sinuous coils around it. The monster then goes on to  crush the life from its hapless victim, while delivering massive  electric shocks to it.
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Kraken = The Kraken is a giant squid-like creature with  hundreds of tentacles that end in cruel suckers and vicious barbs. It  grabs its prey with these appendages and propels them into its evilly  beaked mouth. There are many tales of Kraken emptying ships of crew and  leaving them ravaged and drifting with no sails or masts.
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Promethean = The Promethean is a large, crab-like creature  that is believed to live on the ocean floor, only coming to the surface  to feed. Its tough carapace gives it protection from most attacks, while  its tremendously powerful pincers can rip apart masters, sails and  superstructure.
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Black Leviathan = The Black Leviathan is a huge, carnivorous  deep-sea fish, with a cavernous mouth full of barbed fangs. It  approaches its target swimming low in the water, with little of its vast  bulk showing. As it gets close, it rises up from the waves, its mouth  agape, and gulps its victim down whole.
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...e_Deep_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Behemoth = The Behemoth is an immense narwhal-like creature,  with a single, huge horn jutting from its blunt snout. Unlike a whale,  its mouth is lined with vicious, sword-like teeth, each over six feet in  length.
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...e_Deep_Box.jpg
http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Sea Dragon = As the name suggests, it’s a close relative of  the dragons of Ulthuan. Legend has it that in the sundering wars between  Elves, a dark elf dragon was struck from the sky by a mightly high elf  champion. The dragon fell into the sea, where the dark, cooling waters  bathed his wounds and provided refuge from battle. It’s said that the  sea dragons are descended from that beast.
