Future of Team Radious + Goals Updated!

Hello Everyone, Team Radious here!

We have some very important news for you today. Our Patreon goals are changing, a necessary if a little bit unfortunate adaptation brought about by the recent circumstances. The main evolution is that we will no longer be able to support future Total War titles without additional support which is now very required because Total War games getting larger, more complex and having more titles every year.

Here is a more detailed overview of updated Patreon goals:

1st (Current) Tier – Full support of all existing Radious overhauls, including;

o Shogun 2,

o Rome II,

o Attila,

o Thrones of Britannia,

o Warhammer I,

o Warhammer II,

o Three Kingdoms,

2nd Tier – Full support of Troy: A Total War Saga.

3rd Tier – Full support of All released Total Titles from Shogun 2, updating and remastering our oldest Shogun 2 overhaul.

4th Tier – Full support of all current and future Total War games;

We’ve spent the last week debating the issue and we’ve failed to find any other workable solution. It is with a heavy heart that we make this change, but it would be physically impossible to cope with the massive workload that would be involved if we were to support all these incoming titles just by our two lonely selves. Each would involve hundreds, if not thousands, hours of work on top of the time we already must dedicate to support existing Overhauls. There have already been three TW games released over the last two years and it only seems that CA is gathering steam. The demand for our work as modders is changing and we must change alongside it.

As things stand, our modding portfolio includes 7 overhauls and more than dozen of submods, released over the span of 10 years. We support every TW game since SHogun 2 release. Our mods are, and always will be, free for people to download and enjoy.

At the beginning of our journey, our dedication and the sight of people playing what we have created was enough to fuel us. But times have changed, leaving us behind. We got older, our free time reserves dwindling. We created Patreon, to give people a chance to voluntarily support our work and to show that they care about us and about our content. It has been of unmeasurable help, for which we are eternally grateful.

However, over the last years our workload has increased exponentially. The new Warhammer II update required over a week of our work, the initial overhaul was a matter of several months of hard grind. Thrones of Britannia Overhaul was a work in progress for over 7 weeks. The Three Kingdoms Overhaul was equally time consuming. We’ve spent countless hours tweaking and working behind the scenes to deliver it to you. It took us almost three months to get it into its finished state. On top of all that, Rome II was brought back from it’s grave and required a complete mod rework. All of that happened in a relatively small span of time and put great strain on our small team.

From a modding perspective, Three Kingdoms is a game much simpler to alter than Warhammer ever was, and that effect will only be compounded when Warhammer III is released. Three games worth of content, all in a one confusing package. It would require gargantuan amounts of work to sort through everything and ensure that any new Overhaul all works properly and is done to our usual high standard.

Expansion of the team is a necessity at this point, and we cannot achieve it without more support from You. It is not a decision made from greed, but it is one which seems like to only logical solution at this point. For you to receive content of the highest quality we must attract dedicated, hardworking people, and such individuals need incentives to consider giving up their valuable time.

If you are a fan of our work, we are so sorry that it had to come down to this. We are at our wits and strengths end. We know that there will be a lot of negativity surrounding this announcement, but there already is a lot of antipathy against our team, for various reasons. It is affecting us in a massive way. We have limited amounts of mental fortitude and we cannot continue to spend it without anybody to support us.

We are being completely honest with you and this article is placing all cards on the table exactly as they are. As we say above, we are not disappearing. We will continue to support our existing Overhauls, including the whole roadmap for Three Kingdoms and Warhammer 2. All future titles depend on reaching our new goals. Furthermore, our work has been and always will be free for people to enjoy. It is our sacred tenant.

Yours,

Team Radious
