Weekly Update 1-6-20
Added 2020-01-07 02:20:45 +0000 UTCHello Everybody and welcome to weekly update, this week felt like I did nothing even when I was, so let's get down to it.
Nord is very close to finished, I've been playtesting, rewriting parts, and making sure nothing crashes so hopefully the game just releases in a finished state without the need for updates.
Lilia was given a patch to try to fix some issues and align the text but it seems to cause a crash when entering certain maps, I did not make this patch and have no way of fixing it so if you downloaded the patch you'll have to use the old one to fix it which can be found on ULMF.
Barkeeper has had some thoughts around it and due to the lack of artist who are willing to work on the game and my lack of funding to pay artist for all the work that needs to be done I've been looking for alternative solutions, one of which is to make 3D models and use toon shading for the 2D drawing effect which may be my best solution though certainly not the fastest. I will continue to look for options, and practice my 2D art in the meantime.
Speaking of 2D art, if you want to see my practice as it progresses you can check out my twitter where I've been posting 4 drawing a day to practice. As for 3D I've been trying a few types, Zbrush was recommended to me and its UI is so godawful you can tell it was made by an artist who never heard of the word functional. Blender is also something I've been working with and need more practice in but I think I enjoy it more.
Barkeeper's story has been fully worked out, I will be releasing it in chapters as I implement everything, hopefully after the next release I can implement art with it.
