That was my theory from the beginning, I never wanted to consider the grim possiblity of her sister being dead (though this would have definitely added to Jun's trauma and fears related to judo), and instead thought that she sustained a very bad accident, the kind that made her unable to fulfill her dream of becoming a judoka at Ryuusei. The fact that Jun referred to her at present tense "she is my idol" confirms that the sister is still alive at least.

Just the vibes I've been getting so far have made me think that her sister was in some kind of accident that's judo-related, and maybe that's partially why she has so much anxiety around it.
