2023-03-28 21:36:39 +0000 UTCThe animated version from 1989 was far superior. I saw the remake first and thought it was okay, but then I saw the original a couple of years later and it was much better and was the only adaptation that Dahl saw that he actually liked.

Not great, but as long as we're getting Spielberg-sentimental after The Fabelmans, we might as well pay tribute to Melissa Mathison's last Spielberg script, too.
