This movie is actually based on the real life experiences of a Disney executive who was a teacher at Nimitz Middle School in L.A. Your reasons are on fair and valid. The reason I, and so many other people, love this movie is that I saw people on TV as a kid that I could relate to. I and many others have been in their positions of taking on extra responsibilities as a kid, going to a school with no budgets, and just living in a town where very few people expect you to make it out of there succeeding. Growing up in that environment, you just end up with an outlook of doubts and fear hidden behind facades. Regardless, I still appreciate your honest reaction and thoughts.
