if i remember correctly, given how loved this film is today it’s hard to think that it was a financial failure when it was first released.

2022-12-18 15:16:49 +0000 UTCThe entire reason that there is a 'trope' of angels (or some other magical being, depending on the story) coming and making people forget who a character is or making it as though the character never existed is BECAUSE of this movie. This movie really did it first, and it became so famous and pervasive in pop culture that people started copying it. Every movie or TV show that you've seen that has done a similar storyline took their inspiration from this movie.

2022-12-18 08:36:41 +0000 UTCliterally my favorite fact about this was about Jimmy Stewart. He had just gotten done with ww 2, and didn't want to do acting anymore. But the script really grabbed at him. However, he was still dealing with ptsd. And the audience, for the first time, was able to experience someone with ptsd from the war in the movie-via scene at the bar was especially real for him, as it was a ptsd flashback moment he was having.
