One more thing me and my dad quote is literally everything Ned Ryerson says. We LOVE Ned, Needle Nose Ned, Ned the Head haha!

Me and my dad say the quote,"Hey, who else could go for some flapjacks right now?" And I forgot what movie it was from until now. HAHA!

Hey Nick, if you're interested and want to watch monumental films, I can recommend the following: "The ten Commandments (1956), Ben Hur (1959). Both films with Charlton Heston. And another one: King of Kings (1961) tells about the life of jesus These are usually shown at Easter.

Oh and you are definitely not alone in your opinion of Bill Murray's character. Bill Murray tends to play the same types of characters with the same type of mean-spirited humor in most of the movies that he does (though there are a few exceptions), and while I like Bill Murray and I've never had a problem with it personally, there are many people who have a hard time connecting emotionally with his characters because of that.

Given that you've seen 'day repeating itself' plot lines in other movies before, I had a feeling that this movie wouldn't be the 'wow' for you that it was for most people when it first came out. Important tidbit though -- Just like 'It's a Wonderful Life' gave birth to the whole 'magical being making it as though a person never existed' plot, this movie is THE movie that started the whole 'day repeating itself' plotline craze. In fact that's how it's even referred to by most people - it's referred to as 'the Groundhog Day plot'. Whenever people talk about or reference a movie or a television show that does the day repeating thing, people will go "Oh so it's Groundhog Day." The other media that you've seen already with this plot line owe their existence to this movie. While Groundhog Day was not technically the FIRST one to ever do it (I think an episode of Star Trek beat them by about 4 months), Groundhog Day was the one that became the most well-known, the most famous, and popularized it to the point where suddenly everybody and their brother was doing the 'day repeating itself' thing. Movies, television shows, comic books... suddenly it was everywhere. And this movie is the one that started it all.

Bill Murray is definitely a good actor, but he usually tends to play sarcastic-like characters in his movies. Usually the mean type. So I can definitely understand not connecting sometimes when he does do more emotional acting. It’s more subtle. still glad you liked the movie though!
