Thank you, Nick, for getting emotional to this comedy. I'm rewatching this in a time when I need to. I really love that you were able to laugh but also understand all the emotions from each side.

You say that the comedy didn’t hit with you in the first part, but you definitely giggled hard and laughed at a few different lines and scenarios, even in the early part.
This is meant to be more “what..?” type of comedy rather than overt “haha here’s a clear joke” type of comedy.
Also found it funny when you happened to be laughing about 20 minutes in and then asked “This is a comedy, right?”
But I do like that you were able to get into the drama of the actual storyline of the film and the genuine emotions past the stupid comedy.
On the DVD, there’s actually an alternative ending. Instead of Stef’s first birthday at the Chuck E Cheese type place, the first birthday party is at Kate’s mother’s house in the backyard, and you do actually see her partner’s 13-yr-old daughter, as well as a black adopted baby (as a call-back to the mother’s earlier comments). Been a long time since I saw that alternative ending, so I might have some details wrong, but I definitely remember Rob’s daughter and the now-grandma being cute to the black baby.
