2024-07-26 09:39:48 +0000 UTCThat jumpscare at the start was the very first time in theaters that my little kid heart actually got scared by a movie. Maybe it's because of that that the majority of jumpscares have never worked on me again lol. This was absolutely rated a kids' PG movie at the time, even with the literal hanging scene at the start and the "damn you all to hell" and everything else. I really love how much you take notice of the set design though. That's something that Disney used to always be very good at, in both their animated stuff and live action. I think this was the most expensive Disney set to date at the time, especially when you include all the zombie costumes/make-up (which was mostly practical effects), but I could be wrong about that. As hard as it is to believe, the CGI was also pretty legit for the time lol.
