2024-11-27 07:47:33 +0000 UTCThe war scenes were harsh but is what a lot of people say this particular war was like. One of the reasons why I chose “Warhorse” for a remembrance day month, and yes I may sound too old when I say this, but we have to remember the people who fought, lived and died in these conflicts. The bravery of those who fought helped to shape the world we live in today. Not only the noble men who were officers and the normal men who were grunts, but also the horses, and for my recollection, this was the last time horses were used primarily in battle. This war seem to be particularly brutal. This may be fictional, but I’m sure there are people out there who sacrificed, lost and experienced so much similar things during this particular conflict. We got to see many aspects of this world through the eyes of Joey. From the nobility of Benedict Cumberbatch, and Tom Hiddleston to the two young drafted grunts of the German forces, and seeing how the war took a toll on the local resources through the eyes of the little girl and her grandfather. Spoiler alert —- the only thing I think could have been improved upon in the end is if it had been the granddaughter who had bid on Joey after loosing her grandfather and everything else in the war. They could have fallen for each other, then Albie could have brought home both Joey and a bride. (Time for me to become a screen writer?) LOL
