Sucrose is trapped, kept in a stasis pod by an unknown captor. She couldn't see anyone else in that underground laboratory, but somehow she didn't feel alone. She felt that all the amorphous test subjects in nearby containment tanks are somehow looking at her - even if they don't have eyes. It's as if they are attracted to her presence...

But that was the least of her worries. Whatever liquid is in her pod, it's starting to work. She felt a dull pain in her legs and to her horror, scales started growing on her feet. Her toes got webbed, too!

"What is happening?!"

It didn't register to her right away. In a matter of minutes, Sucrose felt the most excruciating pain in her entire life.

When she looked done, her legs had totally fused. She transformed into a mermaid!

Sucrose started to panic. It's too late when she realized the the stasis pod is starting to break. After she heard the sound of cracking glass, her whole containment tank shattered and collapsed, with the thick liquid in her pod splashing around.

On the floor and in pain, Sucrose came to a horrifying realization -- maybe she was safer when she was in her pod...

スクロースは正体不明の捕獲者によってステイシスポッドに閉じ込められ、監禁されている。地下実験室には他に誰も見えなかったが、なぜか孤独を感じなかった。近くの収容タンクにいる不定形の被験者たちが皆、何らかの形で自分を見ているように感じた。たとえ目がなくても。まるで彼女の存在に引き寄せられているかのように…。

しかし、それは彼女の心配事の中では些細なことだった。ポッドの中に入っている液体が何であれ、効き始めていたのだ。脚に鈍い痛みを感じ、恐ろしいことに足に鱗が生え始めた。つま先にも水かきができた！

「何が起こっているの？」

すぐには理解できなかった。数分のうちに、スクロースは人生で最も耐え難い激痛に襲われた。

ついに限界かと思われた時、彼女の脚は完全に癒合していた。彼女は人魚に変身していた！

スクロースはパニックに陥り始めた。ステイシスポッドが壊れ始めていることに気づいた時には、もう手遅れだった。ガラスが割れる音が聞こえた直後、彼女の収容タンク全体が粉々に砕け、崩壊しました。ポッド内の濃い液体が周囲に飛び散りました。

床に倒れ、苦痛に耐えながら、スクロースは恐ろしい事実に気づきました。もしかしたら、ポッドの中にいた方が安全だったのかもしれないと…
