Devlog | Alternative Routes
Added 2024-02-12 15:10:19 +0000 UTCHey, everyone! It's been a while since the last devlog, so it's time to provide an update for everyone to know what to expect. I'll try to make at least one devlog between each update. This will be a lengthy post, so feel free to scroll down and choose the topic that interests you the most if you don't feel like reading it all.
Talking about Oliver's other route:
- As mentioned in previous posts, this update marks the beginning of Oliver's second route. Even though it's the corrupt route, I want to give players choices in how they interact with Oliver. So, even in the "corrupt route," there will be wholesome moments depending on your choices. I plan to create two different endings based on how you treat Oliver.
How it will work:
- Some quests will work the same but with different dialogues and scenes. Each route will also feature exclusive quests. For Oliver, after the initial quest where he comes to your house to play Smash, instead of being offline afterward and Mr. Deen appearing, in his corrupt route, there will be one quest exclusive to this route in between.
Talking about Linda:
Linda will also receive an update in the second part. I want to remade her initial quests as they are a bit confusing. However, I'm unsure if I'll have the time for this update. However, one thing I'm inclined to do for Linda is to have just one route for her story and concentrate on that. And just Luna and Oliver will have two different routes.
Known Bugs:
- It appears that the main quest where you talk to Maya in the kitchen has a bug. If you leave this quest for later, it may disappear and never reappear. I'm investigating why this happens. If you start a new save, complete the main quest first, and then follow the characters' quests. If this issue occurs in your game or you know the reason, feel free to comment or message me.
Features I am working on:
- Besides the character routes, I'm also working on various other things, such as adding sound to videos, creating a page that shows scenes you haven't seen, and making the quest list open in a window that you can close instead of opening a new page. These features require extra time, and since I'm not proficient in coding, they usually take a while until I can make them work.
Main Quest:
- It's been a while since the main quest was updated, so I will now focus on creating a continuation. I'm not sure if I can include it in version 1.50b, but I will start the preparation and writing to release the continuation in the next update.
Release Date:
- My idea was to release it by 02/20, and so far, everything is going well. I should be able to meet the release date, perhaps with a small delay of a few days if I encounter any coding issues. I'll keep you posted in a separate post if any delays occur.
Thank you for reading this far! I'm still figuring things out, and I am genuinely grateful for your support and patience. I hope you all enjoy the game we are creating together.
