The Final Cure

In a popular Tokyo hospital, Nurse Sato Haruka, is nearing her retirement. She is a seasoned professional who has dedicated her life to helping patients. Haruka’s deep attachment to her job stems from her belief that her role is essential to the wellbeing of society, and she cannot imagine a life without it. However, the hospital administration has made it clear that due to her age, her time as a nurse is coming to an end. Haruka felt devastated, unable to come to terms with leaving her life’s passion behind.
 

One night, Haruka stumbled upon an ancient, forgotten manuscript hidden in the hospital’s archives, detailing an alchemical recipe involving medicine and drugs that could reverse aging. Intrigued, she began experimenting, using her vast knowledge of pharmaceuticals to recreate the elixir. After several failed attempts, she successfully brewed a potion that will shrink a person, with the added benefit that if the shrunken person is eaten, their youth will be transferred to the one who consumes them. Haruka is conflicted but driven by desperation. She can’t stand the thought of being cast aside, and convinces herself that this is her only option.

Haruka’s target becomes Nurse Miyu, her bright and eager young trainee. Miyu is everything Haruka once was: energetic, compassionate, and adored by the staff. Miyu always looks up to Haruka as a mentor, unaware of the growing resentment Haruka feels toward her youth. Haruka offers Miyu the potion under the guise of a special herbal remedy to help with exhaustion from long shifts. Upon drinking it, Miyu feels dizzy and begins to shrink rapidly, her tiny form trembling with confusion and fear. Haruka’s gentle demeanor vanishes, replaced by a predatory hunger. She looms over the terrified Miyu, her eyes gleaming with intent. Haruka, seizes Miyu and opens her mouth wide, swallowing her whole.

Haruka feels Miyu’s fragile helpless body sliding down her throat. Once inside Haruka’s stomach, Miyu experiences pure terror, the acidic environment beginning to digest her as she tries in vain to escape her gruesome fate. As Miyu is slowly digested, Haruka begins to feel her body changing. Her wrinkles smooth out, her graying hair regains its luster, and her once-fading beauty is restored. She stands before a mirror, admiring the reflection of her younger self with a smug, satisfied look. She rubs her swollen stomach, feeling the last movements of Miyu within her, knowing she has secured a future free of the limitations of old age.
