Snip to Chapter 3 in the Side Story

Eventually, the three of them finish their meals and head to the danger room. Once they arrive, they see Scott standing in the middle of the room, but he is not alone. Spider-Man is there too but wearing a new suit they’ve have not seen him in.

“Spidey!” Bobby calls out with excitement in seeing his friend as he high fives him, “Dude, where were you yesterday.”

“I was late, and the smelly gremlin left without me,” Spider-Man informs him before he waves it off, “But it’s cool. I got to spend the day with Mr. Stark and got this awesome suit. Calls it the Iron Spider and that’s what I’m going by now.”

Jean takes in Spider-Man’s new look. The sleek, metallic fabric glints under the overhead lights, and the retractable spider-like limbs protruding from his back shimmer.

“Impressive,” Henry mutters as he looks closer at the suit, “The ingenuity that went into this is incredible.”

“Right!” Spidey exclaims as he gestures to the suit, “This thing can do so much, like flying and shoot lasers. And it’s not constricting,” he then turns around and wiggles his butt at them, “It feels like I’m wearing nothing at all.”

Jean looks at his behind and is transfixed for a moment before the sound of the sound of Miss Pryde on the loudspeaker breaks her focus, “Alright, everybody, time to start.”

They all get their game faces on, except for Iron Spider who looks around curiously. “So what are we doing? Beating a bunch of robots or dodging some lasers coming out of the walls of this thing?”

Bobby winces, “Something like that.”

The overhead lights dim momentarily, casting an atmosphere of anticipation over the Danger Room. With a low hum, the walls start to shimmer and pulse with energy as they transition into a hard light simulation. The familiar gray and metallic backdrop dissolves into a vibrant urban landscape filled with glistening skyscrapers and illuminated billboards. The sound of distant traffic fills their ears, along with the chatter of pedestrians who act as if nothing is amiss.

“Whoa,” Spidey says, eyes wide as he gazes at the sprawling city around them. “This is... amazing.”

Jean can understand his awe. She was taken back by this as well when she first experienced it. This was certainly a step up from what she was used to back in her time.

“Wonder if the Avengers have something like this,” Iron Spider says.

“Welcome to the Danger Room!” Kitty's voice echoes, excitement lacing her tone. “Today’s training is all about teamwork against some, let’s say, less than friendly visitors.”

“Less than friendly visitors?” Spider-Man quips, adjusting his stance on the balls of his feet. “Are we talking about aliens or just really bad tourists?” He gestures to an imaginary horde of confused vacationers.

Jean does note how much detail went into the civilians. She supposes it helps make it seem more realistic.

“Okay, team!” Kitty continues, her enthusiasm infectious. “You’ll need to work together to take down a series of holographic adversaries that will test your skills and communication. Iron Spider, since you’re new here, we’ll give you a brief rundown on the rules.”

“Got it,” Spidey nods, his excitement barely contained. “Gonna show these guys how it’s done.”

It's pretty cool just seeing young Spidey take the time travel shenanigans in stride compared to his mutant colleagues. Even cooler, seeing him use it to his advantage to be a more effective hero

More of Spidey hanging with the X-Men. Let me know your thoughts.
