Primal Goddess Suggestions.

First of all - thank you all so much for your support!  If not for your patience and appreciation I probably would have spent the past year eating out of trash cans, so I really can't show you the appreciation you all deserve!

As I stabilize in my new job, I will hopefully start to be able to pay of my debts and save a little - ideally enough to replace the computer I'm using currently.  As some of you may know, apparently the outdated processor and ram type is at it's limit and not only crashes periodically when I edit in GIMP, but seems to REAAAALLY not like it when I do work in engine, so up to this point I've stuck to concept art and some turn-arounds that I could later chop up and convert into boned sprites.  Looking back over the year, it looks like I've averaged about 1 piece of Primal Goddess Related art per month and it's really died down after the holidays.

I had hoped to create 12 boss character designs and all of their minions by now - as it stands I have a rough of the main character, 6 bosses (one it looks like for some reason I forgot to post), and 4 sets of minions:  so I'm not even quite half way to my goals.  I DO also have some unposted stage designs which I will try to get up sometime this week, but progress has been slow.

So that has raises questions about how best to proceed.

I've started to ruefully  accept that there seems to be an ebb and flow to my art - it seems like just when I start to get steady something happens in my life and as soon as I get knocked off of those tracks, it's a bear to get back on again.  Heh, I always DO, which I have to admit is a huge improvement over earlier stages of my life (my DA friends know there have been gaps of years due to some catastrophe or another) but I now have actual clients, and I don't want to disappoint them!

Part of me wants to simplify just to actually make progress on something people can play.  Maybe stick to the characters I already have and start focusing on making sprite sheets etc.  I've even had people recommend changing it to an illustrated interactive text adventure, which would have much lower system requirements than the adventure game I was planning, and just work on the adventure game later once I get a system that can handle it better.

As this is ultimately for you guys, I thought a poll would be appropriate - I'll leave this up for as long as I can.

I find when working on something for longer than a year, sometimes you need a change of pace, so I'd recommend a bit of going back and forth between #1 and #2, continuing to come up with new character concept art and levels, interspersed with translating it further into the game engine. That way you're not constantly drawing on an empty well of inspiration. ;)
