This was a fun study, my goal was to just let loose a bit and get into the flow of painting. Started with no sketch in this case because anytime something is interacting with water we tend to lose the solid and defined shapes, so a lot of these colours and strokes are just put down by vibes lol. I'll probably work on a few more of these, I'm finding the different textures super refreshing.
One of the most important things to get right with water is the colours! Try to think of anything underwater as almost an abstract shape of colour. It's similar to metallic reflections in this sense. We often won't be able to make sense of why things are reflected the way they are, because it's so complex, but approaching it like abstract shapes of colours helps me a lot
