Face Studies - Process Video

I was pretty inspired by the rendering style of arcane here. I know the final result doesn't necessarily look like an arcane character hahah but my main focus was on the way the show uses hard and soft edges in it's character rendering. Especially on the various planes of the face. it was actually super satisfying to try to examine and carve out almost every single anatomical detail on his face, reference is attached! But if you take a look and compare between my work and the ref, you can see I took a lot of creative liberty haha! :)

2025-03-31 06:09:38 +0000 UTCIf you need more features get clip studio paint. But I think procreate is enough for starters. I prefer procreate over anything else bc the default brushes are amazing. And it has pretty much everything I could ever need. If I need to mess with color curves at the end I can just use a free photo editor for that. But I mostly use prequel for lighting effects

2025-01-21 16:09:28 +0000 UTCuse what you like, sure adobe is not a good company, but if photoshop is the software you want to learn to get into digital art, use it. Sam still use it ~ I would recommend clip studio paint over corel painter if you want to go that route.

2025-01-14 18:38:36 +0000 UTCIf you're just interested in digital art for illustration, seriously consider something like Clip Studio Paint or Corel Painter instead. Try to stay away from adobe products unless you absolutely need a certain feature that isnt offered elsewhere.
