Observation skills: X-ray Vision (June 2025)

This is a highly academic skill that I learned pretty early on, and it's something I always do subconsciously when observing references and seeing things in real life. I hope this video can shed some light on the way subjects are processed and decoded in an artists brain in order to be translated onto a canvas :)
And I hope you can take some of the concepts from this video into your drawings !

2025-07-17 04:44:55 +0000 UTCIt all makes sense, except my brain had a hard time with the left hip in the last example being lower since the step appears to be going higher. Maybe I'll have to watch it a few more times. I'm old, my brain is 🐌 😁
