Just seen your YouTube update!

Robert Ewen

what is the river churn like ? , deep enough for a paddle ?

Richard

Ed it’s been 3 weeks… upload imminent. I might wait for it free on YouTube for the next one

Robert Ewen

Ugh what a cliffhanger! Your fear of swans is hilarious! 🦢🦢🦢

Ruslan Khroma

everyone’s gentle nature and kindness to you is overwhelming, really makes me want to live there 😭

medina kajtazovic

Couldn't wait any longer on youtube for the free release. So here I am, happy to support!

Ruslan Khroma

Ed, when’s the next vid? … I’m dying here! Love your work mate

James Walker

such a long time watting for part 4

norse god loki

The boat and your kit were all still in the water when you went through the lock, I feel like you’re all right given that your stipulation was also “I’ll only get out if I need to set up shots or do something else”. Also seems like more of a love letter to the history of the river that you’re doing this yourself

C D

Why? Are you offering?

Stephanie Collins

You would have difficulty getting lost in England. Walk a mile in any direction and you’ll find a road or a house.

Stephanie Collins

such a fucking weirdo

Poppy

everyone demanding an update needs to chill! ed is a one man band in this mission, doing, filming, editing, uploading this all himself! i would also LOVE to know when the new ep is out but don’t pressure the guy like he said before. i’m sure he’ll update us when things are more finalised as to when to expect the next vid.

Poppy

For some reason that thought is mind boggling for me!

Riese

Yeah when’s part 4 it’s so good

BOB BISKET

Get what I mean it’s Meant to be a series Iv been really enjoying it so hurry up

Leon Payne

facts

Ben Oakland

When is part 4 coming out

Leon Payne

Such a fun challenge! I myself am eyeing up a source to sea on the Ribble, which has some class III water on it, but most of it is really easy and safe

Oliver

Generally mobile phone signal will be sufficient for the entire length of the Thames and people are never far away. We have nothing like the Wilderness you have in Canada.

Robert Ewen

Were you able to get laid on this trip at all?

Nicholas D

Hey, love your stuff Ed! I enjoy doing similar things in the wilderness in Canada. A problem we have here frequently (that is getting better) is lack of cell coverage, so safety protocols and plans are super important for me. Just curious, what kind of safety plan did you have in place for this trip? Periodic texts of status and location to a trusted person I assume? Always curious what other people do to ensure that they can keep doing what they love incase things go sideways! Cheers!

Riese

S.S. Pratt or E.P.K Ed Pratt’s Kayak

James Lombardo

Hey Ed :) I think you and your videos are so cool. I wanted to ask a genuine question - are you ever worried about little river worms, ticks and stuff like that when you’re doing these things? I would love to, for example, do part of the Thames trail and swim through it just as you have, for fun, in the summer. But the little critters that exist in the wild freak me out - have you come across them (except swans)? Aren’t you scared fish will nibble on your toes? What about ticks? Sorry if this seems silly! A genuine albeit strange Q 😁

Zoe Pace

now i just wanna see the part 4 <3 much love from denmark

nick

Sooooo… when is the next one? I want to see Goring & Streatley, Pangbourne and Reading

Robert Ewen

The first time I’ve ever paid for a membership for one of these sites as this whole experience of yours has fascinated me so much. So excited for next parts.

Tamzin Bush

EYYY MADE IT ONTO THE BOAT

Charlie Wilson

same i love these videos nearly watched everyone even though i found this channel 2 days ago!

Albert Greetham

I gotta say all this bush bashing and stuff is very novel from an Australian perspective as I'd be watching out for SO many snakes and spiders whenever going through any trees or anything

Charlie Wilson

Wow, impressive. Thanks for the clarification!

MagicMace

The plan is to release every 3 weeks :)

Ed Pratt

How many eps will there be altogether? I’m obsessed! Pity about the lock-gait but I’d be the same lol

Lucy Linton-Main

My two sons and I love the series so far and can't wait for part 4. We love the effort you've put in.

jayne

it's all good fun though. Every time I took the drone up it felt high stakes :)

Ed Pratt

It's all me. If you look closely in the previous videos when I'm wading, you'll see me holding the controller. In the kayak is more tricky because I need both hands, but for these shots I just park the drone in the sky, place the controller in my lap and paddle through frame. It does unfortunately mean that these shots are less dynamic, but it's the best I can do with the equipment I have. Some drones do have follow functions - mine does not. But to be honest I don't know if id trust it anyway as all it takes is one unseen branch and I've have no drone footage for the rest of the series.

Ed Pratt

Drones can have a follow function, so he can set it up, kayak for a bit and the drone follows him.

Elliot McCreanor

Another brilliant video Ed !

Adam Gray

Great series! I am enjoying it so much that I’ve now subscribed to your Patreon. Something that is baffling me is the drone shots - are you filming those yourself or is someone else? Because at point you’re kayaking so wondering how you’ve filmed that

MagicMace

Gutted for you forgetting to go through the locks

Sophie Cooke

Brilliant stuff ed. "Aw I've lost control again"

Sophie Wyllie

What a lovely landlord at the Riverside - cool dude!

Andy Swadlo

Love the videos Ed, thank you! Can't wait for the next one, and don't beat yourself up about the locks!

Bea

Can’t wait for part 4 :)

Tj

My son and I are loving these videos, can’t wait until video 4 😆

Rishad Smartt

Well done, great video! Part 4 are you able to give us an estimate release date, sorry for impatience lol

Nathan Glass

Another excellent video! Was excited for part three - now even more excited for part four! Happy Christmas and New Year, Ed.

Stephanie Collins

Locks are operated by Lock Keepers. Their job is to allow vessels through the locks. Stan Rodger's has a really great song about the life of a lock keeper as compared to that of a sailor.

Bleys McNutt

cant wait for part 4!

daniel

I think the kayak should be named the red dwarf

Harry Pearce

love these vids

Poppy

That last shot is what we call a cliffhanger ;), can't wait to see the next part Ed!!!!! Keep up the amazing editing skills!!!

Tom van Hummel

never bought a membership before but this series is so good fr

Jack Usher

What a Cliffhanger😂 Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year 😊

Jakob Recknagel

I’d give you a pass on the lock situation and lining your boat. In the states we aren’t allowed to operate locks on our own. I’d have been terrified that I was messing something up

Ethan Aschenbrenner

Greetings from California. I appreciate that you're frustrated with having walked your boat through the locks but how does one stay in the craft unless you have others doing all the work of opening and closing the gates? I'm probably just showing my ignorance.

Warren Snaider

Merry Christmas! Crăciun fericit! I love your videos and what you do this for, you're genuinely the change we need to be in the world, thank you not just for that but showing us your progress in that change! Rivers across the world are seeing resurgences of native populations of flora and fauna because of people like you, people that care!

Tortellini Fettuccine

Very excited to give this a watch! Enjoying the editing so far!

Ben

Hey Ed, this series is great. Would you ever consider it in other countries?

Sam Floyd

How cool is that 😁 Great fun. Merry Christmas

Thiemo Fischer

Another great video! Looks much easier now with the kayak! Looking forward to seeing what happens next!!

Ollie Trollip

Enjoying your videos so much! It’s like hanging out with a good friend and going on adventures with them. I think you will have to start planning some more river to sea videos around the world! 😊👏

Clare Butler

Has to be one of my favorite series to watch right now cant wait for the next part happy holidays!

NooraCharlotta

Time to get a coffee and sit down to watch this, I'm sure it will be a banger! Merry Christmas Ed, shame we got no white Christmas is the UK but I live in hope.

Freddie Wootton

Cup of tea at the ready! Lovely boxing day gift. Thank you for this adventure mate 🤙🏼

Tom Davies

Merry Christmas!

Ed Pratt

Whooo! Been waiting for this one, Happy Christmas Ed!
