First up, we have shades of Shirley Jackson with Ryan Marie Ketterer’s “The Netting on My Feet.” Then Steve Rasnic Tem gives us his stunning take on bodily betrayal in “Carcinogenesis.” In Thomas C Mavroudis’ “Moons of Mission Bay,” a young boy learns that reckless curiosity has a steep price. “Down the Hatch” by C.H. Pearce is a tale of weird science that asks who gets to decide which parts of us are valuable. We follow that with Timaeus Bloom’s darkly funny “Showtime,” following a cosmic cult that’s trying its best. We close the issue with a dark reimagining in Christina Pamies’ “Rabbit” and Keith Good’s dreamlike “The Pump.” Our Crypt story this month is Margaret St. Clair’s cheeky “New Ritual,” where a housewife uses her new freezer to upgrade her whole life.
