Seattle and Vancouver Compared

So I've been really behind lately. School has been crazy busy, but here is my latest Compared video. You are getting it 45 minutes early. I'm sorry, I was supposed to get it done a couple days ago but life.

This one is a collaboration with J.J. McCullough. If you don't know who he is, he's basically the Canadian version of me with cooler hair and a more hip fashion style. We got to hang out at Vidcon last summer, and I'm so happy to finally collaborate with him.

Thank you so much for your continued support!

I think I've actually been through Lebanon on my way down to the Ozarks one time. Yeah, I've been to Seattle and Spokane once, back in 2010. My brother and I went through Washington on our way back from driving up to Alaska. That's cool you have sons in Spokane. It reminded me a lot of Colorado Springs. Well glad you have full-time benefits at your current job. :)

Mr. Beat

I did work at Microsoft, but as a contractor and mostly in the late 1990's and early 2000's. I've had a lot of contract jobs but am full-time with benefits at my current job! Two of my son's live out near Spokane. They like it there and it's cheaper than the Seattle area. Has 4 seasons out there. BTW, Seattle might have a $15 minimum wage but not the surrounding suburbs-- not yet anyway. Hope you can get out this way sometime. I think you would like it. One of my sons lives in Lebanon, MO. A lot cheaper there to live.

Didn't you work for Microsoft or still do? I'm sorry, my memory is failing me. lol. Well thank you. Washington state is so beautiful. I'd like to move there someday, but likely the Spokane area (it's a bit cheaper, as you likely already know). :)

Mr. Beat

Thanks for doing this video! I live in the Seattle area. Even locals don't agree on all the facts! Great job!

Thanks Pedro. It's really disheartening that I can't seem to make it through an entire video without making one mistake. Being a one-man show, it can be difficult to get it all 100% right. I did have three different people read over the script, but apparently all three people missed that. When I can someday afford it, one of the first jobs I will hire out to is a fact checker.

Mr. Beat

Hey Mr. Beat, great video! Just one addendum: Seattle's minimum wage is $15 in general. Employers can only pay $12 if they contribute at least $3 for health care and tips. http://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/LaborStandards/OLS-MW-multiyearChart2019FINAL10118(1).pdf
