The United States and Canada Compared

I had multiple Patreon supporters request this one, and this ended up being my longest and most epic Compared episode yet. To be honest, it could have easily ended up being twice as long.

Be sure to also check out and subscribe to Tim Betts' new channel, Drawn of History. This was another collaboration with him. Here is his video about the War of 1812: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXh_ayDQ12U&feature=youtu.be

Tristan from Step Back History also makes an appearance (filmed in July 2019) and J.J. McCullough, another fellow Canadian, also looked over the script.

Thank you all for your continued support. It means so much.

It's pretty crazy!

Mr. Beat

Because of the St. Lawrence River. "Lower Canada" just means that's where the St. Lawrence River empties out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Mr. Beat

Yep, we should never take that for granted!

Mr. Beat

I'm glad you brought up the Freedom of Speech. a lot of people don't know that Canada does not have that guaranteed in its constitution.

When i was in Canada they liked to brag how they bet the United States in the war of 1812. some rules when discussing it with Canadians. Dont point out the troops were British, they are adamant that it was Canadian citizens, and don't point out that in the long-form Britain failed at the goal of reconquring the US.

Devin Canada

why is lower Canada North and upper Canada South?

Devin Canada

Canada is America's little brother

GotCozied

I had no idea we have nine times the population of Canada, I have always assumed they have about half our population.
