Government Censorship of Fake News EXPOSED | Near v. Minnesota

What do you think about that title, eh? Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. Hahahaha

But I think people might be more likely to click on it. This is a little known yet very important case that happened during one of the worst years of our country- 1931. It remains important because fake news, in case you hadn't noticed, is currently everywhere. I mean, it's not on MY channel. I think? I certainly hope not. I do try my best to tell the truth. In a future video, I will explain why I value the truth so much.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for your continued support.

Government Censorship of Fake News EXPOSED | Near v. Minnesota

Good morning Mr. Beat, I know that this has little to do with Near v Minnesota, but one case that you might interested in is Thompson v Connick. It's a case that originated in New Orleans and in 2011, the Supreme Court ruled (5-4) that a district attorney's office can be held for a single violation of Brady v Maryland. This means that a wrongfully convicted person can only sue a the State if there is a pattern of prosecutorial misconduct within the office. The lower courts ruled in Thompson's favor awarding him $14 million, but as I mentioned, this was reversed by the Supreme Court.

Absolutely

Mr. Beat

I think it's best to lean on the side of free speech. I believe that freedom of speech is what makes our country the most free.

Excellent, Matt... I was unaware of this case and will share it with some folks who might get it seen more widely (and while I'm thinking about that, which is better *for you* to see shared: your Patreon link here or the YouTube link?
