Poll Results - Who would be the best/most formidable PTA mom?
Added 2024-09-30 01:07:17 +0000 UTCI was fascinated by this month's poll results!
I think this month is one of the only months that I did not align with the final result, also - I love to see everyone's thoughts on these things.
Charlotte was the winner, by only 4%!
Charlotte, Gianna, Sutton, Caroline, and Hannah were the top 5 answers by a margin:
Charlotte -
Unfortunately, there is a bit of canon that has been written already that discusses Charlotte's one and only ever attended PTA meeting - and she did NOT love it.
The suburban parents gossiping about who is sleeping with who, or which kid acted out during the school choir performance, etc. It was - quite honestly - her nightmare! Yes, Charlotte is totally used to working within a governing body to make decisions and try to get things done, but she's already annoyed by the useless minutiae in politics, let alone the politics at school. That have nothing to do with the kids, half the time!
Sutton -
Sutton does really well in the PTA, tbh.
She doesn't mind the gossip (she doesn't necessarily indulge in it a ton, herself), but it doesn't infuriate her, either. She grew up with tons of siblings, as well as Regan, so wrangling attention comes very naturally to her, especially after becoming a parent.
Added to that, she is the stay-at-home parent. She does the drop-offs and pick-ups, and meets with all of the teachers, etc.
And she has enough of her mother in her (plus, has been with Charlotte long enough), to have adapted enough of their take-charge attitude in order to really get shit done and make people listen.
Caroline -
Caroline would do well in the PTA, but I honestly just don't think she has enough time to get into it.
*She also would not do very well in the PTA at Elliston, Abbie's private prep school, in which a lot of the parents are not... her style.
Hannah -
In WYLEI, Hannah is established to be a world-class PTA mom, and I stand by that. Throughout Abbie's earlier years in school, Hannah was very involved. She was a fairly quiet participant in meetings, listening to the chit chat and the gossip and whatnot, without adding in her own 2 cents.
She would always round out meetings with a quiet, steady voice, and would be on top of every event that she was actively involved in.
When she got her degree and started her own career, though, are participation in the PTA waned. She'd go to a meeting every now and then when she could, and would keep her finger on the pulse of everything going on, but was far less involved.
Gianna -
I have to say... the real winner of who would rule the PTA is truly Gianna.
Gianna MΓ€kinen Beckett was the Queen Bee in high school, and she is the Queen Bee of school moms, too.
Gianna is a stay-at-home mom because she fucking loves it, and she is that parent that is in the know about everything at school. She might have grown out of her mean girl behaviors, but she still has that... thing. That thing that makes the parents in the PTA desperately want to be her friend, to be on her good side.
Gianna loves a good bit of gossip, too. She was, truly, made for this.
Added to that, Gianna IS a successful businesswoman. Not only does she have the social clout and temperament for this world, but she also has a sharp mind and acumen for how to run events and fundraisers.
