Added 2025-11-03 15:00:16 +0000 UTCIt's the big one! Today on Podcastémon we finally get to Pokemon the Movie 3: Spell of the Unown! We wound up talking about the movie for more than its runtime, so grab your snacks, water your dog, and make sure your plants have some dog food.
We found ourselves interesting in this one, so either you'll agree or think we've lost our minds. Maybe both? We sort of approached this in more of a "what we wish the movie could have been" angle than a "purely look at it for what it is" approach, but we trust that it won't be too frustrating. We want everyone to enjoy this one, so we've also went it out to our video tier members.
Next time we wake up from the filmic dream and return back to the week-to-week episodes, covering episodes 156, "Psychic Sidekicks", to episode 160, "Air Time". That is the name of the episode, not release order!

What I've found in watching Pokemon films was that they're on a tiny spectrum of quality, and I normally find myself enjoying the ones that try a bit more beyond legendaries fucking shit up in a random city, so I would still rather watch this than the previous two. But learning the original intentions of the head writer made for some very insightful discussions.
