It's sad but understandable how whenever people first see Shoji the guy with the weird octopus looking arms, they always immediately go to ew or gross. I think it's a natural reaction to first seeing a person with such a shocking body modification but actually in hero society mutation quirks are really looking down on. They're treated like less than people and monsters so it's a sad situation for him to be in but it shows the strength of his character that he still wants to be a hero to give back and help the community that thinks so little of him and people like him. In fact I believe that's why he wears the mask because he doesn't want to scare people or for people to look at him and just see something gross. I feel really bad for him
