And there is an other character with the family name Diez and a cross scar that you've been introduced to at this point of the series who is also confirmed to be from the North Blue: Diez Drake. Often written as X Drake, but pronounced Diez Drake, based on the roman numeral X. So if the scar alone is not enough to clue a reader/viewer in, the name is the other hint. :)
