i wouldnt call kayaba "a good guy" it was in character for him, he wanted to create a virtual world, even multiverse. he just did what he needed to do to achieve that. i think he is just a psychopath with a vison, he didnt really care for the suffering of others

2024-02-11 02:06:26 +0000 UTCKayaba is an odd character. He was an antagonist, but I wouldn't really call him a villain. It seems like his primary motivation was that he wanted to create a "real" world with real stakes, and have it play out to its natural conclusion. Still it feels kind of weird for him (or his echo or whatever) to be a "good guy" now, but I don't hate it. This was indeed a very satisfying kill to see. Sometimes it's worth having properly evil villains so we could hate them without any lingering ifs or buts so their defeat would be more satisfying in the end.
