Clue Artwork Continuation Part 2/3

Hello there

I forgot how gruelling these full page collages are.

I genuinely said to somebody that I didn't think it would take me more than an hour.  The whole thing.  I have got no idea where I got that from, but - I assure you - this has taken more than half an hour.

I'm having a full on week of art this week, so the posts may reflect that (there will be other stuff I hope).  I'm trying to go up a gear to amass a load of art to (try to) sell. Which is why I'm also trying to not get too attached to it, as I think this one is going to be the impetus for me to start uploading original pieces to Etsy, and see if I can get anything sold.

I think it's certainly a long shot at the moment, but I also think that I spend so much time creating artwork that I really need to get to a point where I don't feel the need to covet every last thing I do for myself.  If anyone has any tips on selling original stuff online (art wise), then I'm all ears.  I know its difficult, but I guess the popularity of my Etsy store over the years gives me a slight advantage with it.  Hypothetically...

Anyway, that's incidental admin, let's get to the actual artwork itself.  I've done three more of the characters in this post, and the next one I do will finish off the last two, plus a building and a design thing at the bottom.

Are you ready?  Can you work out whodunnit from the expressions? Have you already predicted that I will end the third part of these by saying I'm going home to sleep with my wife? Because I definitely will. Say it I mean.  Not sleep with my wife.  As we all know from Reboot, I don't have a family.

I don't half wish that drawing these was as quick as it looks in these collages... three hours that was...

Great Scott!  My nails want cutting...

All these shots come from the same thirty seconds of the film (except Tim Curry - his portrait is from the very beginning outside the house).  I've always had an issue with these shots because they are all brilliant and moody and shadowy, but then Colonel Mustard (that last one) seems to be a rogue shot.  I definitely think that the shadowy shot of him didn't print properly so they pulled a shot from elsewhere in the film and tried to incorporate it into the montage.  So, this has been quite the challenge to make that shot look like it is the same style as the rest of the shots included.  I think it does.

Also, the reason I didn't use Tim Curry from that bit is because the shot of him in the movie actually looks like he's been drawn wrong.  So it is him, but it looks off, and I thought if I drew it accurately it would look like I'd made a mistake in it.  There's a glimpse at my artist neurosis...

Anyway, here's where we are up to at the close of Part 2;

Accurate portraits with two more left to mess this all up.  This is where the nerves get proper jangly.

Hope you are having a lovely week thus far and that all is going to plan for you.

Much love your way
