Reboot Episode 14

Hello there

Here I am with the triumphant return of the Reboot podcast after the Summer holiday (1 day).

Amongst other things, this tells the story of when we started our radio show on BBC London, and how we very quickly came up against an ogre who was already working there.  Some of you will know him from when he played the same boring game when he was on Fubar many years later.

Now, not to overstate this, but once in a blue moon I will sit and edit a podcast and think "that's actually a really special one".  I'll then start looking at it all forensic and trying to work out why I think that.

This is one of those episodes. It epitomises why I think Reboot is one of my very best pieces of work (not taking full credit, it is tacit that I am meaning the three of us when I say "my"...before they start whining).

The podcast generally covers many different moods in each episode.  There's considered stuff, and silly stuff, and rude stuff, and sincere stuff, and rows and reminiscences.  Nobody else can tell our stories, and nobody else had the same experiences as we did, BUT they are relatable stories to anyone who has ever been in the middle of something, trying to make it work when it was going wrong. It's not just raucous nonsense all the time, and most of the episodes manage to be simultaneously childish and really smart.  This one, is definitely that.

And it builds, and has anticipation, and unfolds a story, and peaks.  It's structurally on point, which is why I started getting a bit giddy over the three day edit.  Yep, three days this one took, but I really do think it's come out worth it.

Of course you may listen and wonder what on earth I'm on about, which is also fine, I'm just saying I'm proud of this episode and the whole ongoing collection of podcasts.

Really hope you like it, whatever your take on it.

Oh, and Jon takes his pants off again.

Have a wonderful start to your week please

Much love as always
